Mike Tyson Facing Felony Charges

Not exactly shocking news here but Mike Tyson was arrested with a felony amount of cocaine as well as driving under the influence early Friday morning.  He was spotted driving erratically leaving a club, ran a stop sign and then almost struck a sheriff's car.

He is said to be cooperating fully and being a "gentleman."  He did tell the cops he has been using constantly over the past few days and "uses pretty much any time he can get his hands on it."

If this suprises you...you're probably the guy that will shed a tear out of shock when news comes out of the inevitable Tyson overdose/murder story.

Tyson Interview
I just saw a Tyson interview replayed on CNBC. It was from several months ago, played now because his name is in the news.

Tyson seemed genuinely contrite--a changed man, really. This isn't to say he's a better man (who knows?), but he did seem to have a more mature perspective about himself.

Now we find out about this. I guess we now know what motivated his exhibition tour. Anybody wonder where the money is going?

The thing is...
everyone who has talked to or dealt with him in the past year or so has said the same thing...he seems much more mature and like he seems to be much more "aware" of himself.

I actually am a little sad about this.  Not suprised, but still sad.  Growing up Mike was the f'n man and I have trouble seeing the guy who pretty much got me into the sport constantly self-destructing.

Tyson
I'm kind of in the same boat. Tyson dominated boxing just when I was getting into the sport too. I hated him, but I always watched his fights to see if he would lose finally. Naturally, I became a big Holyfield fan.

We all agree that this is painful to watch. Bad for Mike, bad for the sport, and bad all around.
