Winners: Cotto, Margarito, Wright, Lacy
I can't judge the Showtime fights since I didn't see them, but Matt and Kevin seem to agree that Quintana was putting on a great fight with Cotto until a nasty liver shot took him out of the fight after five rounds, and that Margarito did beat Clottey, but that the judges' scores were a little too pro-Margarito.
As for the HBO card, Winky Wright predictably did his thing against Ike Quartey, winning an easy unanimous decision, and Jeff Lacy struggled mightily in a close split decision victory over Vitali Tsypko that I actually scored a point up for Tsypko.
Over in Germany, Javier Castillejo lost the WBA middleweight title that he won from Felix Sturm in July to Mariano Natalio Carrera, via 11th round TKO. Sturm also returned to action on the card, with a sixth round TKO victory over Gavin Topp.
A good night of boxing, and now we gear up for Jermain Taylor v. Kassim Ouma on December 9.

Wright & Lacy
On the other hand, Jeff Lacy was a big disappointment. I'm not sure whether he still hasn't fully recovered from the Calzaghe beating or whether he's just overrated, but he wasn't impressive at all. Anyone can hit a guy who stays in the same spot and doesn't defend himself. Had Tyspko used a little defense and let his hands go a little more in the earlier rounds, I think he would've won the fight pretty easily. As it was, I thought the fight was a draw. Lacy may have injured his shoulder, but I think it was an excuse for a guy who was rusty and may not be the same fighter he once was. I think the Calzaghe fight changed him and I think he's overrated. He's too one-dimensional and hasn't learned anything from the Calzaghe fight.
