Marquez brothers both win
Juan Manuel Marquez improved to 45-3-1 with a seventh round stoppage victory over Terdsak Jandaeng (24-2) in a fight that I sure wish I'd seen instead of the two I did see. Both fighters took a lot of punishment (so I hear) in a what was a real slugfest (so I hear).
Rafael Marquez also won, beating Silence Mabuza on a ninth round technical stoppage. Rafael Marquez improves to 36-3, and Mabuza falls to 19-2.
Anyone catch these fights? It had to have been better than the sorely disappointing Ouma/Powell and the idiotic Forrest/Quartey show.

I caught the first fight (vs. Mabuza)
The first fight was a pretty decent back and forth affair with Marquez dominating the first couple of rounds making it look like a replay of their first bout. Mabuza finally figured out that he has the faster hands and began moving in and out flashing powerful fast combos almost at will for the second half of the fight.
In the ninth Marquez hurt Mabuza badly and with him still stunned in the corner between rounds and bleeding from a few different cuts the corner asked the ref for the bout to be stopped.
It was a good fight and nice to see a corner looking out for a young fighter's health. I look forward to seeing more from the young Silence Mabuza.
It sounds like the second fight was also very good...but seriously...how unfortunate of a name is Terdsak?
