Favorite Boxing Site?
What's your favorite boxing site? I'm partial to Boxingtalk.com. They seem better connected than the other big sites and consistently offer quality material, especially with their interviews. With similar sites, like Ringside Report, you often get the feeling they're struggling for content, and while I've enjoyed some of their articles, their writing is pretty uneven.
Boxingtalk has at least one disadvantage: their best content is usually "for members only," but at six bucks a month, I can't complain too much. And their video library makes it worth it.
There's something to be said for the blog format, though. It seems more real. In the end, guys like Scott aren't trying to make a living at what they do (the money is basically nonexistent). He does this, I'm pretty sure, because he loves talking about boxing, and you can tell from the writing. I like his posts because they're free of that "let me try to demonstrate what an expert I am" feeling. He simply says what he believes and lets his audience decide for themselves.
I sometimes enjoy the give and take of message board conversations, but I hate wading through the flames and idiocy to find worthwhile posts. Ideally, I would love this site to have more of that kind of writer/reader exchange. We've seen a little more action in the threads for these posts lately, and it would be great to see more. We can tell from the site's hit meter that more and more of you are reading. I think I can speak for all of the staff at BLH when I say we really love hearing your responses, even the smackdowns. Good conversation is the only real reward around here, and that's fine with me.

Bad left hook
I do browse the BBC/SKY/ITV boxing webpages as it keeps me up to date with what i can watch and when. I used to contribute on the forums on EASTSIDE BOXING and DOGHOUSE BOXING but gave up the ghost on those a while back.
What i like about BLH is as Matt pointed out ,its the honesty of the articles. They are written in a way just like you would talk about it in a pub with a another fan and not sounding like Bert Sugar sat there with his fucking stupid fidora hat and a cigar not even lit.
I like Scotts Round by Round Reports on fights. Its great coverage. One idea, i dont know the possibilty of it is to install a chat room which could be filled with like minded fans on fight nights.
Keep it up the sites good.

boxingtalk?? ringsidereport???
maxboxing.com gives you a lot more bang for your buck in terms of content and plenty of well known writers.
boxingtalk and ringsidereport are garbage in comparison with other top websites.
fightnews.com is the best at up to the minute results.
boxingscene.com has tons of free video, news, well known writers and a very busy forum.
secondsout.com has plenty of top writers and solid UK connections.

Yeah
I do like fightnews and check it out often--same with boxingscene. I've never heard of secondsout.com. I'll have to check it out.
First time commenter
Figured as long as it was mentioned, I'd create an ID and comment. I've only been a reborn boxing fan over the past year or so since having drifted away after the last heavyweights retired and the belts divided.
The welterweights drew me back and have my unbridled attention for obvious reasons.
As far as internet boxing content, I come here first. I will check out these other recommendations but I prefer reading opinions more than facts because let's face it, sometimes the hype is better than the actual bout but that's just fine with me. It's the dissecting that keeps things interesting.
Keep up the good work!
Welcome
Thanks for registering. Hope to see you around. And I agree with you--laying your opinions on the line is more interesting than feigning neutrality.
Sites
In terms of inside stuff and fight buzz, I like Dan Rafael's notebook on ESPN. Overall, he seems to have the goods before anyone else.
Boxingtalk and Maxboxing are both good sites, but I honestly prefer Boxingtalk (although they seem to have their favorite fighters). They have more breaking news, they have some good guest mailbaggers and some cool interviews. Also, even though I am far from a Mayweather fan, I don't understand why Doug Fisher from Maxboxing is always dissing Floyd. It seems like a personal thing. I don't like Floyd either---actually I root for him to lose every time he fights---but, nonetheless, I have to accept he's the best p4p boxer out there, no contest.
