He was out on his feet… that in itself is worthy to be called a KO in my opinion. He was falling on the ropes and that held him up various times, that is worthy of a KD and a standing eight count. Counting 6 two times is unacceptable. The unneeded warning to stay in the corner is another f up. Arg…

This is all academic. This man could have been killed. Obviously the fight should have been stopped far in advance of this fiasco. Mr. Wright, next time a fighter cannot walk, or stand, or punch or guard perhaps you should do him a favor by stopping the fight and letting him live. At the VERY VERY Latest, this fight should have been waved off when Bute went down at the end, no count was necessary. People whine about Joe Cortez and Jay Nady etc., but those are great referees who have fighter’s best interest in mind. It’s THIS kind of ref, who unnecessarily puts a fighter’s life in jeopardy and does not even see his error that needs to be called out.
