I totally missed the boat on Floyd Cummings' ridiculous lawsuit
And for that, I apologize.
TMZ broke it last week that Floyd "Jumbo" Cummings, the final opponent of Joe Frazier's storied career, is suing ESPN Classic for airing their fight.
He is suing them because it violates the Right of Publicity Act, and brings Cummings' name into the public spotlight. He has lived a quiet life, he says, and since ESPN Classic used his name without his consent, they have somehow destroyed that. The entire, amazing suit is in PDF form here, thanks to TMZ.
Floyd Cummings is serving a life sentence for armed robbery as a habitual criminal. You can read about that here. I hope he doesn't sue me.
This is just an awe-inspiring lawsuit. I don't even have the words, really.

Only in America
Well that story is almost too Ridiculous to be believed .
Ole Jumbo nearly derailed at the time rising prospect Frank Bruno when he came over here in 83. End of first round he hit Frank with a inside right and he was gone standing up. He had to be helped to corner and was stil in a world of shit for the second round. Bruno Eventually stopped Cummings in 7.
Nobody seems to talk about that when speaking about Bruno. His glass chin was in question then before Bonecrusher decked him a year later. I got the fight on tape and Jumbo was a big big lad. His back was like a butterfly swimmers.
