Calzaghe rips Hopkins!

Light heavyweight Joe Calzaghe may return to the ring next year in front of his hometown fans in Wales, but it doesn't sound like a rematch with Bernard Hopkins is high on his list. "Screw Hopkins, man," he told the London Mirror. "He got his a*** kicked by a white boy. He's got to accept that. He's an idiot. A complete a*******. I don't want to give him a rematch. It wouldn't be a good fight. The guy's a racist. He was never going to give me any credit. The way he fought against me in Las Vegas was cowardly because he held on all night and feigned being hit by low blows. He tried to steal the fight." Calzaghe is expected to make an appearance at the WBO Convention this week.

This is one where you might expect me to get annoyed by Calzaghe, as Calzaghe has annoyed me plenty of times between fights.
Instead, I simply ask you to imagine a montage of all the asshole remarks Bernard Hopkins has made over the years. And then I shrug my shoulders. He’s had it coming for a while now.

you know, your right. i dont mind these comments because it is about time that somebody said something back about the whole “ill never let a white man beat me” comment by bernard. It was pretty much just accepted by the media, which suprised me. Especially considering if it was the other way around we never would have heard the end of it. As a guy who is neither white or black it just seems a little weird that that comment was more or less accepted as promotion for the fight.

I don’t think either one of these guys is really racist. I think they both like to talk shit.
Calzaghe is right, however, in that Hopkins is to blame for dropping a big stink bomb on that whole fight.
