Feliciano needs to stop fighting

Honestly. I like him, but he has nothing for anyone in the sport right now, except maybe a chin with a bullseye painted on it. A lot of people praised him for his gutsy performance against Cintron. I didn't, if only because I kind of thought this guy's inability to keep his hands up was just a whole lotta trouble careerwise.

But at some point I think you have to distinguish "gutsy" from "suicidal." Tsurkan was just nailing him over and over with these sloppy-but-sort-of-hard hooks, and Feliciano was just mechanically marching right into them, literally EATING them like ice cream cones. He is dangerous to himself, period.

Jesse - there is other work for you out there. Stop before it's too late, buddy.

I was coming on just now to say the exact same thing. I missed the fight live but watched it today.

Look, I'm all for letting grown men do what they wish within the law. Feliciano routinely getting his brain sloshed around is within the law. But it's not enjoyable to watch at all. He deserves praise for having a lot of guts and being very tough. But you know what that praise and those guts and that toughness are going to get him? Brain damage. That's it.

The guy can't fight back. Someone that cares about him should really talk to him about whether or not he should continue fighting. He gets TV fights because he allows action to happen every second of every fight. But he's getting destroyed out there. It's not fun viewing. It's just sort of gruesome at this point.

He's 15-8-3. Vast riches do not await Jesse Feliciano. He is by all accounts a nice guy, and there is plenty of work in boxing that won't require him getting his face punched in anymore.

Respect his toughness, respect his heart, respect Jesse Feliciano. But I agree -- he needs to get out before something bad happens.

I lost count of how many flush right hooks he ate, but it seemed like a few hundred. It looked like one of those Rocky movies. I was literally yelling at the screen for Jesse to lift up his hands. At one point around the fourth round or so, my girl walked in the room. After a few minutes she turned to me and said "Dude, why the fuck are you even watching this?" And you know what? I couldn't come up with a good answer.

As for someone who cares about him to talk him out of this, doesn't his pop train him? If so, I'm guessing there's little hope of that.

Silencing Mouths

I read an article on Friday I believe where it stated that Feliciano was out to silence everyone about his ability and to let them be well aware that he was capable to be or stand in the league of Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito; how far fetched was that?! If he continues to fight he should train on I don't know what because I doubt there is little hope for him to actually continue. That fight was extremely brutal. I guess he was able to withstand Cintron simply because he barely covers himself when he is being plundered with punches; so maybe it works both ways for Cintron and Feliciano. I swore I would never watch the brutal Cotto-Gomez fight again, however, I would rather watch that than the last Feliciano match again. I doubt he'll stop though. He would probably continue until he's seriously injured by some boxer along the way. It is sad though he should just stop and maybe start training amateure fighters or something for the time being in a local gym until he can get a big brake.
Rather than silencing mouth he caused them to be wide open. Some one close to him should just tell him to stop or fuck that the actual trainer should tell him. The trainer is also at fault if he just sits there and keeps his mouth shut.

Anyone caught the Chavez Jr fight last night? Maybe it was just me I don't but for that match to last so long meant that he was not well prepared. I know he was injured but that was like in the six or seventh round. And he already had the Italian boxer knocked out as it was. Especially if he keeps fighting bums he is not going anywhere. Now Camacho Jr wants to have a fight with him. Camacho Jr. During his fight lastnight, Camacho Jr looks like shit with all them crackhead drugs he took along with his father. This kid needs to start getting bigger names just for start ups. I'd love to see Chavez Jr. up against Ricardo Torres. However, I doubt Chavez Jr will even last with him. The kid is good but unless he's more exposed out there who's going to bother. Even certain Mexican boxing fans that I know barely know anything about him.
