Showtime: Everyone makes weight
Vernon Forrest came in at 153.75 pounds while Sergio Mora (who has been fighting at 160) weighed in at 154 on the nose. Welterweights Carlos Quintana and Paul Williams also made weight, with Quintana at 146 and Williams at 145.75.
We'll see tomorrow, but sounds like the 6'1" Williams might have overtrained.

Overtrained?
I’m backing Williams in this fight and I got no problems with Williams coming in light. I held off really putting money up because my worst fear was him coming in over. I’m happy hes comfortably under.
I dont buy this whole “Quintana has his number” argument that many, many people have made. In boxing, the better guy usually wins the rematch and Williams is the better guy.
I had Quintana at long odds (7-1) and was ecstatic and did think he won. That said, I just felt like Williams gave it away. He’ll use his size and his skills to actually hit the hittable Quintana this time around and I think the decision reverses.
Williams UD
Other quick picks for the hell of it:
Forrest by sloppy close decision. I just think Forrest has lost a couple steps.
Lopez by a late TKO. He’s gotta survive the first two rounds of PDL’s looping huge power and I think Lopez will ultimately make the fight his tempo and make Ponce De Leon look bad. I think he wears him down really late and puts him on the floor.
Pavlik within 4 rounds.

My real reason for thinking Quintana wins is that I think he’s just the wrong style for Williams. And I’m not at all convinced that Paul IS the better fighter. But it’s a pick’em fight, I’d say.
