Oscar and Pacman picture comparison

Of course the height difference is obvious because Oscar is wearing pumps while Pacquiao his usual rubber shoes. The picture also shows Oscar on the foreground which distorts the proportion and make him look a lot bigger than the Pacman. I would asume ODLH is wearing boots judging by the jacket and jeans get up. The jacket  also gave ODLH more bulk and that Manny always wear tight fitting shirts and pants. It would be better if they are measured in height and weight by a competent authority so that we will really know the difference and not just talk about mismatches that does not paint the real picture. And next time, choose a picture for comparison that is close to reality.

OK

Oscar is 5’10 1/2” and Pacquiao is 5’6 1/2”. Pacquiao has 67” of reach and Oscar has 73”. Many boxing experts had questions about Manny’s frame surviving the move to 135. It has—against David Diaz. Oscar came in at 135 and grew out of the class 12 years ago.

Oscar is by no means a small guy as a welterweight—he’s right around Margarito’s size. Most of the top welters are somewhere between 5’7” and 5’9”, with Mosley coming in at a tall 5’9”. Oscar stacks up size-wise terms of height to guys like Margarito and Cintron. Pacquiao has a light frame (bulk-wise) and always will. He’s just not a big man. Would you go ahead and consider Margarito-Pacquiao an obvious physical mismatch? There isn’t much difference in the two ideas (Margarito-Pac, ODLH-Pac).

The size differential is enormous in boxing terms. This is common knowledge and common sense: Oscar is a lot bigger than Manny and it gives him a distinct and perhaps insurmountable advantage, no matter how much better Manny is pound-for-pound than Oscar (and I think he’s a lot better at this stage of their careers).

If you think Pac can beat Oscar, more power to you. I think he’s got a remote shot, because anyone always has a shot. But the size is so huge, and Manny’s “tight-fitting pants and shirts” and Oscar’s jacket aren’t the problem.
