I might be alone in this
But for some reason I do love how much BHop is just too involved in the background promotion. In the previous bouts as well.
Watching Manny Pacquiao fight live--great...
Watching Manny Pacquiao shadow boxing on the roof of an abandoned building--priceless
I love it, too
He’s there as a promoter, and I know that, but I still don’t see him as a promoter.

Early prediction
Margarito by SD. Mosley outboxes him in the early rounds, then the difference in stamina starts to show. Some judge will have some whack score where Mosley wins like 117-111, but Margarito will have clearly won 7 or 8 rounds.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
way too in tune with the boxing judge mind

Prediction
Close fight early but MArgarito takes over around round 6. I think Shane has enough of a chin and guts to barely make it the distance and Margarito takes a comfortable UD.
Can’t wait for it.
Shane by decision
Sugar jumps out to a big lead up to the mid rounds. Margo starts looking for a KO instead of winning rounds. Shane gets in trouble several times through the mid-late and late rounds. Shane wins a close decision.
so Williams-Margarito but with Mosley as Williams
"I decided to become a basketball fan this year and it’s not working out so well because the Wizards SUUUCK. So then I shifted to hockey. That’s pretty fun except there are a lot of flashing lights and horns and shit at the game."

I more or less totally agree with this assessment. As I’ve said in a previous thread and as another poster suggests here, there is a significant risk of Margarito overlooking Shane. I think lcollins1’s description and Brickhaus’ description are about equally likely, but I’m going with this one because a) Shane is one of my favorite fighters and b) I have money on him.
I'll repost mine
Margarito close decision. He will not knock Shane out, or down.
"I decided to become a basketball fan this year and it’s not working out so well because the Wizards SUUUCK. So then I shifted to hockey. That’s pretty fun except there are a lot of flashing lights and horns and shit at the game."
I don't think it'll get that bad
I’m trying to find nice ways to say that I don’t think Margarito is the indestructible machine some people are making him out to be, and not make it sound like I’m calling Margarito “overrated,” because he isn’t — he’s rated as the world’s best welterweight, and he is. I also don’t think Shane will pin himself on the ropes and get battered all night, even in rounds he’s winning, like Cotto did. He won’t take the amount of punishment that felled Cotto.
Or he might, what the fuck do I know?

I’m really excited about this fight, and I would normally be posting like crazy with you guys in this thread. However, I am watching this fight on my second date with a new lady-friend. She says she likes boxing. Wish me luck.
good luck indeed
My fiancee shows a passing interest in boxing. I think the sport amuses her more than anything else. She did wikipedia “boxing” when we first started dating, which I thought was nice.

My ex loved and still loves boxing
My current just sits there pretty with nothing to say.
Just the way I kinda like it
I always look like a fool
when I watch a fight with a girl. It’s funny because I grew up watching fights with my Dad who cannot stop himself from getting way too verbally and emotionally involved in the commentary, to no end. And now, I do the same shit.
I've tried to not get too "hype"-y
But we’re three and a half hours out and I’ll admit I have a hunch we’re in for a great, great fight.

Can't wait
Two of my neighbors actually came up and started talking to me about the fight while I was leaving the house earlier today. It was pretty surprising to see them so hyped for a match-up with no Puerto Rican fighters, and this is the only time I know of that the both of them have invited a bunch of people over for a non Cotto/Trinidad fight. Margarito must have left a huge impression on them last summer.
well hey
Couple of guys that have been in excellent fights against Cotto, this should be an excellent fight too.

What time is the main event scheduled for?
Please note, I’m in the UK, it’s now 2:05am, and the program is scheduled to start at 3am, so I’m hoping the Toni/Shane fight will be straight on, no undercard? If I’m wrong, I’m going to bed now, no sense waiting up to watch it at 6am…..
Does the fact a boxer doesn't switch weight divisions during their career detract from their overall P4P ranking?
Cos I'd take Hagler over most heavies in history, P4P, and also over "6 weight world champion" Oscar De La Hoya, and Marvellous Marvin never really messed about with his weight, did he?
I meant no televised undercard, obviously....

Cool.....
I’ve got £100 on Toni to stop him (at 6/4), and another small amount at fairly big odds on Toni rd 8 stoppage.
Come on Toni, show us what you’re made of man!!
SC, I kind of see your point on Toni, but I do think he will stop Shane. I bloody hope so, now!!

you're ABSOLUTELY entitled to your opinion
But when he compared Andre Dirrell’s shamefully pathetic performance v. Curtis Stevens to Muhammad Ali, I officially gave up on him. Also when he said there were no night clubs in Vegas. Lennox is a great guy, but you’re absolutely in the minority thinking he’s good as a commentator. But I’m not arguing with you really — you enjoy what you enjoy. I like Lampley and a lot of folks don’t.

Margarito-Mosley R1
That wraps thing is crazy. What the fuck.
Mosley with a left hook. Crowd is white hot. Margo with a long left, and Shane starts firing. He’s got Margarito backing down already. Mosley is hitting fast and hard. Body shot, Margo lands a left to the ribs. Margarito pressing his way in, eats an uppercut from Shane, and he lands the clubbing right. Margarito with a couple pot shots to the body as Shane tries to bully him. Gutsy move, but Shane takes him to the ropes and lands a NICE left hook. HARD right to the body by Mosley. He’s looking very sharp, but we all know you don’t judge Margarito until the fight has worn on.
Margarito with a couple of long jabs, and Shane throws hard back. Shane with a right. Good opening round for Shane Mosley.
Mosley 10-9

Mosley 20-18
Margarito threw a bit, but a lot of ineffective aggression, and Mosley landed the larder shots.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
Margarito-Mosley R2
Shane is clinching when he has to, and as Larry points out, staying off the ropes, which I expected after what happened to Cotto.
Tobey Maguire and Kevin Connolly are by B-Hop.
Big right by Mosley, partially blocked. NASTY combination by Mosley, three or four shots landed to the face, and solid. Mosley getting warned by Caiz for some rough tactics. I’ll say his bullying is surprising me. Margarito grazes Shane with a loaded shot. Mosley takes a couple shots. Like the Cotto fight, Margarito IS landing shots. He’s not winning these rounds in my view, but he’s landing his punches. They add up. He’s strong.
Mosley drives Margarito into the ropes. Caiz warning Mosley not to use his head. They touch gloves at the bell.
Mosley 10-9

Mosley again
I’m thinking maybe round 5 before Tony gets nuts.
Or maybe Tony has been really living up the rock star life between fights
Margarito-Mosley R3
Margarito with a right over the flicking jab, but not sharp or with much intent. Mosley backs Margo down (well, kind of). Margarito goes on the chase, and Mosley grabs for him. Mosley’s tactics seem to be frustrating Margarito a little. Shane’s fighting like a veteran.
Inside fighting, Margarito throwing where he can. Long jab from Margo, who then blocks three jabs from Shane. Uppercut from Margarito. Left hook from Mosley. Margarito is complaining about Mosley’s head contact. Mosley with a NASTY right hand at the end of a five-punch combo. HARD right from Mosley. Margarito smiles in his face. Wow.
HARD right again from Mosley. This is fantastic stuff from Sugar Shane. But again, we’re talking about Antonio Margarito here.
Margarito lands, Mosley lands, HERE THEY GO! This is a good one. It’s living up to it.

Margarito-Mosley R4
Mosley sticking his jab out there. Margarito with a long right. He hasn’t landed much in the way of good, hard punches so far. Shane’s doing a great job. I say that reserved, of course, but I say it because it’s earned.
I haven’t seen Shane look this relaxed in a while. I mean he’s really laid back in there. He’s thinking a step ahead of Margarito.
Margarito eats a couple more, and they start firing. Mosley landing A BIG FLURRY WITH A HUGE RIGHT HAND! NASTY right from Mosley at the bell.

I don't see Margo doing damage
landing occaisonal shots but not the type that are going to add up. Shane’s going to have to slow down of his own age. 4-0
Mosley needs to start going for the body
This headhunting is flashy, but it won’t help him in the late rounds.

Margarito-Mosley R5
Mosley throwing that jab when he wants to, or needs to. He’s using it mostly to counter and deter and reset Margarito. He’s doing a phenomenal job avoiding Margarito’s power. He’s been outstanding.
Margarito throwing, but Shane lands harder, and twice. Shane’s speed looks like it just might be too much for Margarito. Couple of body shots. Hard right Mosley, Margarito lands back. They’re throwing hard shots again, and again Shane gets the best of it. I’d say the punches will accumulate for Margarito, but he’s not landing a lot. Margarito bleeding from the mouth after a left hook. Right hand body shot after.
Shane has OWNED these first five rounds. OWNED them.
Mosley 10-9

yeah in some ways
But Mosley isn’t taking the shots on the ropes Cotto took just about every round. No doubt Miguel was dominating on the cards, but I see nothing adding up on Shane right now.

Margarito-Mosley R6
Mosley is still landing with precision and speed and real power. Margarito has not found an opening yet because Shane isn’t giving him anything. Shane has bullied him, backed him down, and outboxed him delightfully. But Margarito does keep coming. Margarito is looking for anything punch-wise; he’s not throwing real power shots with meaning. He’s being beaten up, even if he’s not getting really hurt.
Shane backs Margarito into the ropes, and Margarito looks like he might be feeling the shots. MASSIVE RIGHT HAND SHANE MOSLEY! And ANOTHER! AND ANOTHER! He’s kicking Margarito’s ass now. He is KICKING HIS ASS. Left hook grazes.
Wow, what a round for Shane. Margarito is being dominated.

Has anyone given Margo a round? Lederman hasn’t, I haven’t, none of you have. This is a blowout.
Mosley’s tape comes loose.
HARD right Mosley again! How the fuck is Margo staying up? Margarito with a nice combo, then Shane backs out when he realizes the moment is not for him. Margarito is definitely doing a little better this round. It’s open to win with 40 seconds left. Shane lands a hard right, and Margarito is throwing. I think Antonio knows it’s time to make a war. HERE WE GO! HERE WE GO! And Shane…ties it up. He just fought the urge to throw down. That is really big.
Margarito ends the round strong.

Overhand right from Shane, very nice. Shane charges, Margarito is there for him. I think there are a few fighters that would give PBF a difficult time: Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, and Williams. Mosley is the toughest in my opinion.

Williams and Mosely. . . yes
I agree that those two are less of a threat, but PBF is little and those guys can put some serious punishment on Floyd. Williams volume would be interesting. Mosley however has the most complete package of the four to go against PBF, too bad his defense isn’t as good as it used to be.

Holt-Hopkins / Toney-Oquendo did 339 but that was two cards
Oscar-Manny did 294
Calzaghe-Jones did 313 (because no one ordered it)
