ESPN2 programming note

Box_a_qawi_holyfield_300_medium If you aren't a football fan but are going to sit in your sweatpants and be lazy all Saturday, ESPN2 is running boxing until midnight.

Right now, Holyfield-Qawi I is on. After that:

Holyfield-Qawi II
Holyfield-de Leon
Holyfield-Dokes
Holyfield-Foreman
Tyson-Johnson
Tyson-Ferguson
Tyson-Zouski
Tyson-Tillis
Tyson-Berbick
Tyson-Douglas

Nice to see ESPN running some classic bouts. Nice to see ESPN paying more attention to the sweet science lately in general. I do kind of wish it was more than Holyfield and especially Mike Tyson, but I'll hold off really complaining about that for now.

Agree, it’s been nice to see ESPN showing more and more old fights lately.

Caught Pazienza-Haugen I and II yesterday (didn’t stick it out for III) and those were two great scraps. I’d never seen them before, and, man, did those guys keep up an unreal pace and really go at it. They sure seemed genuinely dislike each other, to boot.

Just fun to see fights like that, which are classics yet I’d never know to look for them because they were before my time.

Wish we got that down here

I live in Australia, all we get are Holyfield-Foreman, Holyfield-Bowe 1, Holyfield-Moorer 1, Gatti-Patterson/Robinson both fights and Whitaker-McGirt 2 over and over and over again. I’d love to get Holyfield-Qawi or Holyfield-de Leon! Lucky Bastards! (shakes fist)

Holyfield-Dokes

That fight is better to watch then all those Tyson fights listed above.
But I love the Tyson-Berbick/Douglas fights. Zouski did his best too.

Underground you got to go there...
