Floyd Mayweather Jr. sits down and talks to some nerd from MTV. As much as I hate the network and figure most fight fans do since not many of us are 13 year old girls, this should kind of be the final word on whether or not Mayweather's a crossover star, at least for those few weirdos holding out in the "he's not that big of a star" camp. I mean, it's MTV, the home for young pop culture, and here's Floyd Maywether, star of a dead sport.

Mostly he talks about Michael Jackson and Rick Ross.

MTV is a very mysterious thing to me here in 2009. I sort of remember back in the day when they were still cranking out increasingly hilarious Guns & Roses videos, but its all a blur after that. Do they still show music videos?

Mayweather is indeed a crossover star...

Which magnitude I don’t know, but still, he found a way to market himself again here. Nice, Floyd. =)

He has some odd type of mainstream popularity… that I just don’t get…

He's got a nice toothy smile

That will still take you a long way in life, believe it or not.
