On the undercard: Gary Davies v. Ian Napa (Bantamweights) and Chris Edwards v. Shinny Bayaar (Flyweights)

So we’ll be going right at it, and then I’m going to skip the other fights because I’ve got a date kicking some friends’ asses on Madden.

this is real smooth, unlike the dunne fight from a while back.

Moore starts off stalking Rhodes, and Rhodes is swinging at distance, trying to back him down some. Rhodes throws a right hook and it’s blocked. Rhodes tossing some shots out, but he’s landing nothing yet. Double left hand by Moore, Rhodes gets off the ropes and digs in a hook to the body. Moore going to work inside, but Rhodes hits another shot to the body. Left by Moore. Moore bullies him to the ropes again and tries to get some work done. Moore winning the fight on the inside, which is to be expected. Now he’s got Rhodes cornered with about 15 seconds left in the round, and he lands a couple of really nice body shots. Rhodes looked confused for much of the round.

Right to the body again by Moore, and he’s just coming right out to pressure and corner Rhodes. Rhodes turns him around in the corner, throws some shots, and then backs off of it. Moore putting the pressure right back on, working the body. Rhodes tries to fire back in kind. Digging body shots from Moore. Rhodes goes righty now. Rhodes is showing a habit of going straight backwards and that should eventually be his doom. Rhodes with a jab, left that follows whiffs. Moore bullying again, Rhodes lands a right backing up. Moore trying to make a brawl, Rhodes trying to get slippery and land counters. Right hand gets through Rhodes’ guard. Moore is banging away inside now! Those are good, clean shots from close quarters. Rhodes starting to pepper away, but there’s an uppercut from Moore. Back to the body by Rhodes.

Pretty much constant action so far. Rhodes flicks a jab and gets busy here toward the end of the round. Moore punctuates it with a body shot.

Moore not being troubled at all here. Rhodes missing wildly and getting picked off.

Rhodes trying to circle and jab to start the round, trying to get Moore’s pressure to work against him. Not a bad idea. Moore back to work inside, targeting the body. Rhodes with a lead left, doesn’t land, then a wild right hook doesn’t land. Body shot and a short chopping right to the jaw by Moore. Uppercut for Moore lands. Now they’re inside again, which is what Moore wants, and he’s landing by far the best shots when they get close. Rhodes misses another right hook and Moore bangs away again. Moore totally dominating the first two minutes of this round with the rough inside fighting. Rhodes is letting him have his way.

Moore going to the head, flurrying, and Rhodes is feeling the pressure for sure now! Hard body shot by Moore as he continues to dig away at Rhodes. There’s a good shot for Rhodes, but it’s just one and Moore evens it up just moments later. This fight is going Moore’s way, big time.

Moore back to the body immediately, and then an uppercut lands. Rhodes trying to fire back, but he’s just not landing much at all. Left hand shakes Rhodes a bit. Moore continues to just work, work, work on the inside. Uppercuts are getting through easily, hooks are landing, body work is piling up. He’s dominating impressively. Rhodes, to his credit (or as a testament to his bad gameplanning), is hanging in there and fighting close with Moore, just getting outgunned badly. BIg left by Moore! Rhodes is getting torn up now. Chopping right hook by Moore. Another left lands for Moore. Rhodes going to the body and that seemed to back Moore down. Yeah, Moore’s backing down — woof, maybe a slight change of momentum there.

and solid…

Rhodes sticks a left hand in early in this round that seemed to back Moore down again. He’s getting off first and Moore isn’t trying to crowd him so much anymore. Now Moore gets in there, throws an uppercut and lands it, but we’re starting to get a real fight now. Rhodes landing some shots now, taking the pace of the fight. Moore firing to the body and HUGE SHOT TO THE NUTS BY JAMIE MOORE!

Hard to tell if it was low from the camera angle, but the referee rules low.

Moore zips to him, right hand lands square. Rhodes throwing back, Moore banging away again. This is getting GOOD. These two are warring for sure. Winnable round for both with a minute left. Rhodes strays low now in the middle of a nice combination. Rhodes pressing the action, and backing Moore up a bit again. Rhodes ends the round throwing leather. Looks like Moore is gassing a bit to me.

Rhodes pressing again. This is a 100% turnaround from the first three rounds. Right hook by Rhodes. Moore trying to get to the body, Rhodes shutting that down much better. And he’s landing shots upstairs! Rhodes building some big momentum! Uppercut inside by Moore, and a left hand shakes Rhodes! Rhodes throwing wild shots, Moore landing some sharp blows now! Body shot by Moore!

Left hand by Moore. JUST short on what could’ve been a huge left, but he’s landing again. Momentum ALL the way back to Moore. This is a hell of a scrap so far. Rhodes backing down for sure now, getting on his bike. Moore digging away. Rhodes in trouble, I think. Now Rhodes fires back and shakes Moore a bit! Uppercut from Moore! Rhodes taking hard shots to the body, uppercuts inside, and that was a HELL of a round! Rhodes took the first half, Moore came back really strong.
