Golota doesn't look to be in AWFUL shape...
…but he obviously isn’t even close to being in peak shape. Adamek looks a bit soft, but that should be expected if he has any intent to head back down to 200. Basically, he’s fighting at his walking weight.

His injury from the Austin fight was grizzly.
Are there two more polar opposites in terms of toughness? Golota seems to have about as much heart as the cowardly lion, while Adamek has walked into the ring with broken ribs and a broken nose before without cancelling.

I was never huge on Soundgarden, which is weird since I like Cornell’s voice so much and like the style of music they played. i like them in a greatest hits kind of way. Alice in Chains were and are by far my favorite of the Seattle big four though.

There isn’t much of a reason to rematch Cunningham. There’s zero network interest in that fight, unfortunately, and Cunningham nearly beat him the first time (I think I had him winning by a point even).

Jab to the body by Adamek, and then one to the head. Body work from Adamek, and he’s throwing everything he’s got right away, hoping to overwhelm Golota with speed. Golota swings a huge looping right that misses. That’s what I’m most interested in, seeing Adamek take a big punch from Golota.
Trade of jabs. Adamek shooting his jab in nicely to start, and now he rocks Golota upstairs with both hands. Adamek, as I expected might be the case, really has no interest in trading, just trying to outwork and exhaust Golota. Adamek is straight up firing power shots from all angles, and while there doesn’t appear to be a ton of power on them for a heavyweight, he’s landing and eventually, Golota may fold. Wouldn’t be the first time.
Golota charges, Adamek clinches up before anything can happen. Right hand lands for Adamek, and a left, and DOWN GOES GOLOTA, but I think that might’ve been more a push than anything.
He’s up and will fight on. Left hook lands for Adamek! Golota is busted open near his left eye, on the inside near his nose. Big opening round for Golota, and you have to score the knockdown.

Adamek keeping range effectively to start the round, going up and down with his punches, circling, constantly moving. I think Golota’s mouthpiece just went flying. Yep.
Jab by Adamek, then some body work. Left hook Adamek lands. Golota misses a hook in kind. It sort of looks like a poor man’s version of Oscar-Pacquiao in a way. Golota may well be bigger and physically stronger, but Adamek is peppering him and there’s really not much Golota can do with him so far. More combination shots from Adamek, then he pumps the jab twice. Golota charging recklessly, trying to land a big shot, but failing.
Golota cuffs Adamek with a left hook, but it didn’t land clean whatsoever. Adamek on his bike, jabbing, now throws two power shots. Another easy round to score for Adamek.

Jab upstairs, right hand downstairs. I really like what Adamek is doing with Golota. You could also sort of — SORT OF — compare this to Ruiz-Jones in a way. There’s always that chance that the big man lands a big shot, but it doesn’t look to me like it’s gonna happen. Adamek is a superior athlete, a better boxer, and probably just wants to win more than Golota does.
Adamek trying to soften Golota up to the body, then starts moving around the ring again. Golota tries to lay into Adamek on the ropes, but Adamek blocks and then gets out. Golota stalking, Adamek moving backwards, jabbing as he walks, and then shooting in with power shots. Golota slips, round ends, another easy score for Tomasz.

BIG RIGHT FROM ADAMEK STINGS GOLOTA! HE’S WAILING AWAY NOW! And Golota clinches up! There are still two minutes left in the round and I think Golota’s will may be giving out. I generally wouldn’t say that in the fourth, but it’s Andrew Golota.
Golota is now looking old and tired when he tries to move in offensively. Adamek is pounding at him, and even when he doesn’t land the big shots, he forces Adamek to cover up and try to quell the onslaught. Golota is just plain not in this fight. Too old, too slow of hand. He IS still moving around the ring well for a guy his size, and that’s impressive, but he’s not giving Adamek much to worry about. The shutout continues.

I know Scott disagrees, but I’d like to see him move up permanently, settling in at around 220 pounds. As long as he’s not fighting Klitschkos, he could give just about anyone problems there.

They may meet up again eventually
Dawson will probably move up soon. Unless the Hopkins-Jones winner will fight him, there won’t be any money left for him at LHW. Probably will move to Cruiser for a few fights, and then up to heavy. His body could easily support fighting at 230.

Adamek screamed about his hometown, urged ppl to judge him and said he showed what he does best. He knew what to expected from Golota and called him dangerous. He said he has speed and heart and that will make him champion. He’s looking to improve his accuracy. He wants to return to Poland next year for a big fight and finally said he believes he can beat the best HW’s.
