yeah the skinner was an awful name, but the ice truck killer is similarly lame. Bay harbor butcher & trinity killer are by far the best serial killer names the show has come up with.

DeMarco-Alfaro R1

DeMarco starting with the jab. Alfaro shoots a lead right, doesn’t get there. DeMarco fighting a bit tentative, but so is Alfaro. DeMarco steps up the aggression a bit in the final minute, and Alfaro really has nothing coming back besides that right hand that isn’t quite getting there. Not a lot of clean shots in the round as both try to find a groove.

DeMarco 10-9

DeMarco-Alfaro R2

DeMarco coming in with the straight left, but he’s been awkward with it all night. Alfaro with a right hand. Uppercuts by DeMarco, and now the straight left is starting to get in there. Alfaro slips. Nice combination by DeMarco, and he’s turning it up! Nice charge by DeMarco to seal a pretty dominant round.

DeMarco 10-9

uppercut right on the nose. i think alfaro lost his vision for a while there due to the punch. eyes tend to water up when you get hit on the nose like that.

DeMarco-Alfaro R3

Alfaro getting bombed at, but DeMarco isn’t landing much more than the straight left, but that might well be enough. Alfaro goes a smidge low, but DeMarco doesn’t complain. Alfaro’s having a tough time stylistically with DeMarco; he’s fought many lefties before, but DeMarco is giving him a ton of problems. DeMarco using the jab, trying to set up the straight left. Alfaro’s nose bleeding a little bit, it appears.

DeMarco 10-9

DeMarco-Alfaro R4

Alfaro starts the round with a 1-2. Alfaro making some strides offensively early in the round. DeMarco coming back in the latter half of the round a little bit, but Alfaro is dictating pace this round. Right hand glances for Alfaro. Right from DeMarco. Alfaro swinging wild, especially with long uppercuts. BIG left hook from Alfaro, and now they trade big shots! Alfaro wins that exchange, and this fourth round.

not so sure about that

Just because most people don’t really know how good Perez really is. Its been a couple of years since he fought on Shobox regularly, and it’s impossible to find a copy of the full Mabuza fight. You would think beating a top 10 p4p guy would get him recognition, but evidently not.

DeMarco-Alfaro R5

DeMarco leading the action again in the first minute, working off of his jab. Alfaro’s face is swelling up a fair amount now. DeMarco stumbles on a shove. Good body shot by DeMarco. REALLY hard! And now DeMarco is just firing away! Alfaro fighting back! Boy, when the pressure’s on, Alfaro really nuts up in there. Now Alfaro takes over the pace and direction of the fight again. DeMarco with a pretty counter left hand and right hook.

DeMarco-Alfaro R6

Alfaro’s corner told him to pressure DeMarco and he starts the round trying to press, but he’s just not finding a consistent attack. His lead rights are short. Alfaro’s shots caught and now DeMarco is throwing in combination. Alfaro eating some shots to end the round. This is a pretty basic, one-sided fight. Alfaro is doing his best, he’s just not good enough.

DeMarco-Alfaro R7

DeMarco using the jab again. Alfaro constantly trying to find openings, but they’re just not there. DeMarco with a hard body shot. Alfaro being turned and hit solidly. Another round for DeMarco. There’s just not a ton to describe with this fight. DeMarco is easily winning and Alfaro can’t do much with him, though Alfaro is landing here and there.

DeMarco-Alfaro R8

DeMarco continues to control. He’s landing body shots pretty easily when he throws them. Right by Alfaro blocked with the glove. DeMarco backing him down now, and here he comes again, now hurts him with a body shot! Alfaro back quickly, though, no real lingering effect just yet. DeMarco continues to work away with a few body shots and his jab. Alfaro shoots to the body, but is short. Another round for DeMarco as this gets increasingly one-sided.

DeMarco-Alfaro R9

Alfaro is pretty marked up now. Alfaro with some very slow 1-2s, easily blocked and dodged by DeMarco. I really hoped this would be a night of back-to-back exciting fights, but DeMarco isn’t being terribly aggressive and outclassing him with ease. Alfaro just isn’t fast enough. DeMarco easily ducks two swinging shots, right and left hand. Another round in the bank.

DeMarco-Alfaro R10

BIG SHOT BY DEMARCO! Alfaro through the ropes! Back to fighting, and Alfaro is down this time! He’s on bad legs. He’s done. DeMarco blitzing him now, chopping away, and Alfaro is trying to find his bearings. He’s throwing back. BIG SHOT AND DOWN GOES ALFARO AGAIN!

Joe Cortez is going to let this continue for whatever reason.

Hands are high for Alfaro, Cortez taking a close look at the action now. No three knockdown rule. DeMarco lays off the gas and just looks for an opening now. Alfaro takes a knee, and Joe Cortez stops the fight. Good idea.

Agbeko-Perez R1

And they start fast fighting in close quarters, both guys letting their hands go. Did they just claim no connection to Agbeko’s walk-in thing? Jesus Christ. I was just fucking joking. The guy’s name is “King Kong” for the love of shit.

These two are just throwing punches like crazy. They are not stopping at all. Yonnhy Perez is getting into a brawl here, and he just might well want that. Agbeko getting the better of the exchanges, but Perez is starting to land the left hook, too. This is non-stop! Good shit already. This one will not disappoint.

Agbeko CONSTANTLY putting the pressure on, and Perez is right there to meet him. Left hook by Perez stumbles Agbeko just a hair. BIG SHOT BY PEREZ! Another one! Oh man, Perez steals the round by landing the harder shots. That left hook could be a difference maker.

Agbeko-Perez R2

And off to the races they go to start this round, too. Agbeko throwing, Perez throwing. Just sit back and enjoy this one, folks. This is too good. This is video game shit.

THEY ARE WARRING! Perez winning the exchanges. He’s quicker and has found a money punch. Perez with three left hooks, working up the ladder with each one. Agbeko stunned again! Perez is winning this fight so far, but Agbeko is hard to get down. Big shot Perez with the left hook! And he’s battering away! Agbeko won’t budge, though. He’s right there and working the same pace.

This is awesome.

Perez is putting money in the bank with the body shots. Big right hand Agbeko! Agbeko getting tagged, but now he fires back. Well he’s fired back the whole fight. Left hook by Perez! Agbeko is going to have to solve that left hook. Right hand Agbeko, now Perez makes him miss. They end it warring.

Agbeko-Perez R3

Agbeko with a nice combo to open the round. They continue to trade huge shots. Left hook Agbeko, and a straight right hand. And another right hand lands. Perez wailing away, Agbeko covering up a bit more this round. Agbeko misses a lunging right. RIGHT HAND by Perez! Agbeko with a short left hook. This is constant punching. Constant. No words can do this one justice.

HUGE right by Agbeko! What a BOMB! Chopping right from Perez, who showed little reaction to that massive Agbeko shot. BIG shot by Perez! Snapped his head around! AND EHRE COMES PEREZ AGAIN! Agbeko right there with him! This is some fucking fight. This is reminding me of Vazquez-Marquez, and I don’t like leaping like that. This isn’t a brawl, it’s just hard-charging boxing between two guys who love to throw their hands.

Cruz holds the record for most punches by a single fighter by a decent margin in that fight. He’d already broken the record heading into the 11th.

Agbeko-Perez R4

And guess what they do to start this round? Fight!

Agbeko seems to have adjusted a bit to take away the left hook. Agbeko getting a little sloppier. Nice right by Agbeko after some body work from Perez. Upstairs flurry by Perez. Body shot from Perez. Agbeko blocking more punches this round, doing a little better overall. He’s trying to bully Perez a little bit, I think, see if he can’t wear him out. This has been the slowest round and this would be the best round of a whole lot of TV fights. Better round for Agbeko, seems to have made some minor adjustments even though he got a little reckless offensively earlier in the round.

Agbeko-Perez R5

Perez gets Agbeko on the ropes, Agbeko fights out. Big right by Perez! Right on the money. This is some scrap. Now they’re just throwing leather again. I mean this is getting ridiculous that they’re throwing this much. Agbeko with a great right hand! If Agbeko is REALLY thinking he should do what he did against Darchinyan, he’s screwed. Perez and Darchinyan are essentially nothing alike.

Perez winning the majority of the exchanges this round, too. And I think Agbeko is starting to tire. This pace is going to get to one or both of them soon enough.

Agbeko-Perez R6

Perez jabbing and starting to really take over the pace. Agbeko might be getting a bit frustrated. Perez is dominating this round at the halfway point. Right hand by Agbeko, no response from Perez. He hasn’t been dented at all by some big shots from Agbeko, and that’s saying a lot about Perez, because Agbeko isn’t feather-fisted by any stretch. He’s also been sitting on his shots better than he usually does, although his usual lunging sloppiness is emerging. Perez continues to work away. Agbeko with an uppercut. Agbeko with a slight late charge, but a Perez round.

Perez 10-9
Perez 59-55

I’ve got Yonnhy up pretty wide, but I could see the opening round to Agbeko for sure.

Agbeko-Perez R7

There was an accidental headbutt by Agbeko last round, and Perez is cut. Press row has it 58-56 twice for Perez and 57-57, and Bernstein has it 57-57.

Agbeko starting to REALLY hurl the bombs now, digging in with a lot of power. He’s come out REALLY fast and he’s tagging away. Agbeko stings him with a right! Agbeko is coming on hugely strong. Left hook lands for Agbeko. This is some hell of a fight and the momentum has turned.

Left hook by Perez, seems to have a little bit of zip gone now. Agbeko headbutts him again — that one is debatable, and it’s just how he fights. Everyone who fights him is aware of that. Agbeko getting a little cocky this round, and it was a clear Agbeko round. Easily his best round of the fight.

Agbeko-Perez R8

Agbeko’s left hook is starting to land. Agbeko is really starting to throw his head around. Agbeko going back now. Perez going to town, trying to work to the body again. Agbeko seems a bit confused about what he really wants to do this round. Is he tiring? Is he trying to lure Perez? A left to the body hurt him some, but now he’s coming back! And here they go! Perez with a big right! Agbeko trying to steal this round, but Perez pops him again. My God, that is some great camera work as they just stand and trade near the ropes. Outstanding round. Great, great, GREAT stuff.

Agbeko-Perez R9

They start with all action again. This is just a fucking war. Huge shots by Perez! Agbeko staying in the pocket and fighting back, but he’s getting outgunned badly in this first minute. Agbeko coming back in the second minute, tagging Perez with a straight right and taking the pace. He’s warned about his head now. The last 30 seconds can win this round for either.

Left hook by Perez. Two-punch combo from Perez. Agbeko shoots his headbutt and misses. Right hand Agbeko. Left hook Agbeko. Tough round to score.

Agbeko-Perez R10

Both warned to watch their heads after some more action. Agbeko has pretty effectively taken away the left hook, which has helped a lot. I could see this fight much closer than I have it. Agbeko starting to dominate this round. This is some great stuff. HARD right by Perez that Agbeko never saw coming! And another right!

Agbeko using the jab again. SOMETHING WRONG, AGBEKO IS DOWN! He thinks there was a headbutt. That was ruled a knockdown, and you gotta score it.

Agbeko-Perez R11

Press Row: 97-92 Perez, 96-93 Perez, 95-94 Agbeko

Agbeko making Perez miss some this round, but Perez has turned up the heat. Agbeko standing in the pocket and warring back. Big “Yonnhy!” chant goes up. Two right hands, one from each guy, and they’re just eaten. Great shots, too. This is some fuckin’ fight. My God.

Agbeko had the early part of the round, Perez the latter half. I actually liked what Agbeko did early better than what Perez did late, and I score for King Kong, but this was another tough ass round to score.

And they come out like it’s round one again. This is awesome. Agbeko going to town, Perez meets him there. Right hand from Agbeko at the end of the exchange. Perez with a left hook, Agbeko with a right. This has broken down into punchpunchpunchpunchpunchpunchpunch

In other words, “Fuck yes.”

They’re throwing bombs with 30 seconds left. THEY WAR UNTIL THE FINAL BELL! WHAT A FIGHT! STANDING OVATION AND MORE THAN DESERVED!
