Showtime's outstanding Fight Camp 360° debuts Saturday night

At 10:30 ET on Saturday night, Showtime Sports and NFL Films will debut a genuinely unprecedented look into the inner workings and politics of boxing with "Fight Camp 360°: Inside The Super Six World Boxing Classic."
I got a chance to sneak preview the show, and it's remarkable. It's already available on Showtime's World Boxing Classic page, and I cannot recommend the show highly enough.
You'll see five promoters sitting at a table, arguing, negotiating, working together. You'll see their fighters looking forward to the tournament. The whole thing is on par with HBO's award-winning "24/7," and I say that with the highest praise possible. In many ways, it's even more intriguing for the hardcore boxing fan, because watching these promoters bait each other with sniping comments is something you just don't actually SEE too often.
I have to say, without spoiling anything, that the absolute best moment came from Lou DiBella, who in the middle of a squabble pipes in with, "I'm not trying to be an a**hole, but Allan Green's available..."
This entire tournament is such an amazing step forward for boxing. We said this right away when the whole shebang was rumored to be coming together (there's a bit on that in the show, too), and when it got announced. But the closer it gets, and with the inside from "Fight Camp," it's stunning how different and how exciting this is. Showtime is putting a lot of juice behind this idea, and you've got five promoters working together with six fighters in a situation that makes NOTHING but big, interesting fights for the next 18 to 24 months.
Here's the schedule for the first episode of "Fight Camp":
- Saturday, Oct. 10 - 10:30 p.m. SHO (premiere)
- Monday, Oct. 12 - 11:30 p.m. SHO2
- Tuesday, Oct. 13 - 10 p.m. SHO2
- Wednesday, Oct. 14 - 11 p.m. SHO2
- Thursday, Oct. 15 - 10 p.m. SHO2
- Thursday, Oct. 15 - 10:40 p.m. SHO
- Friday, Oct. 16 - Midnight SHO
- Saturday, Oct. 17 - 6:40 p.m. SHO

Sorry to be a pain;
But when you say it’s already available on the Showtime page, I can’t find what you refer to?
Could you put a link up to the show, please?
Boxing is the beginning of all sports. I'm willing to bet that the first sport was a man against another man in a fight. (Omar Epps)

It’s about halfway down the page that I linked to in the article in the videos section. It’s the main video. The video does link out, though, so try this: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1716410550?bctid=44166861001

Having never really seen the promoters before...
“What do you call a bunch of boxing promoters at the bottom of a lake? A good start.”
Christ, what a bunch of a**holes.
"Gowin on fourth and 14 will punt it away. He hangs it very high, angling it for the near sideline...HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!!! HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!! Brian Milne might've fallen on it at the ten yard line! It's the New Orleans Saints' football! Brian Milne, the most unlikely hero of them all, falls on the fumble, the muff by Hakim! There is a God after all!" -- Jim Henderson

semi-unrelated, but as i read old boxing books, the amount of race baiting they used to hype fights in the older days was insane….now it seems you have to be afraid of noting in the above poster “hey, there’s several white looking guys”….this will probably sell better as a result/fans are still looking for a white hope/contender etc.

When they find out it’s a Dane, a Brit and an Armenian based in Germany, the “white hope” Americans will lose interest. Which is fine by me.

I love showtime, this is what hardcore fight fans want to see. I mean we want to see and hear what goes on with Sauerland and Goosen. 24/7 is an epic show but it is gear for the casual fan more so than 360.
