Around SBN: Fighters React to Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

I've thought about Mayweather for a long time now," Roach told ESPN.com from his Wild Card gym in Hollywood, Calif., on Monday. "He's the ultimate opponent. His style does pose some problems because he's very good at what he does. But after seeing Manny with Cotto, Manny showed he takes a punch well. We'll definitely knock Mayweather out. He'll break down. He can't stand up to Manny's pressure. He won't last as long as Cotto.

Freddie Roach, already making predictions about a Pacquiao-Mayweather bout. Roach adds that Pacquiao has more balls than Mayweather.

Does that mean Manny has more “balls” as a general substance, or literally, more balls than Rollerboy? Because while the first is good, the second will shorten your life and make fitting into almost any garment a bit more awkward.

Wow

I know Freddie is prone to hyperbola with an intended effect, but I’m calling shenanigans on this one, this early in the process.

I don’t know how early it is. Freddie has prepared for Floyd before. Granted he was training the bigger fighter in that fight, but he assessed Mayweather just two fights ago.

More balls?

Roach has just confirmed Manny’s doping with testosterone

by FCF on Nov 16, 2009 4:38 PM EST reply actions

I thought doping makes your balls shrink, not grow.

Yep, but you grow more of them – scientific fact

I actually can see where Freddie's coming from with these comments.

Pacquiao would be the first fighter Floyd would have ever fought that would have comparable hand speed to him. Those shots that glance off when Floyd’s able to see the punch coming and move out of the way? Those are flush, connecting punches against Manny.

What happens to Floyd when he takes that amount of punishment? If Floyd finds a way to keep himself from getting hit against Manny, I’ll declare him the new Willie Pep. There is now nothing more inconceivable to me in boxing than a fighter that could keep Manny at bay…….you know……other than the sanctioning bodies having a collective conscience and outlawing “interim”, “super” and “diamond” champions.

Judah, for all his flaws, has faster hands than either of them and Floyd fought him. Judah is no Manny though.

Good catch, forgot about him.

And yah, slight difference in power, accuracy, stamina, talent, etc…… :)

I think Pac training with Castillo isn’t just a one time thing for Cotto either.

Castillo beat Mayweather in their first outing and much respect to Castillo but in many regards Manny is a superior fighter and can push those same sore spots a lot harder.

Just to be fair, I want to see someone with the username FloydMayweatherJr say that Marquez beat Pacquiao twice.

I'm already sick of Roach

I love the man and admire him in every way but it’s about time for Manny to talk his own trash.

Floyd says it best here . . .

Yeah everybody knows Roach is clueless when it comes to boxing people critisized him for his last 3 predictions as well and we all saw how wrong he got those.

Take your head out of Floyds ass Roach was being asked about Floyd Mayweather Jr and how he thought Pac would stack upto him so he gave him the answer.

by MannyPacquiao on Nov 16, 2009 7:56 PM EST up reply actions

Well first and foremost

I don’t need to defend being up any fighters ass when a name like yours calling me out.

Secondly, I never said Roach hasn’t got a clue. I already said I love him. His brother Pepper trained me at Wild Card all last year and got to meet Freddie many times. I absolutely love him.

All I’m saying is that I’m sick of him calling out Floyd when in all reality, should be Manny

For Real!

Some dude calling himself by another dude’s name making that statement is hilarious.

Roach says “Yeah sure a fight with Mayweather would be good, I reckon we can knock him out”

That’s not really calling out or trash talking is it? Persoanlly I really like that Manny doesn’t trash talk. The biggest assholes are the biggest trash talkers IMO.

I like Roach because he does what his fighter doesn’t have the heart to do: the mind game, the fight before the fight. But even Roach knows that he is talking out of his arse now. Floyd never has and never will take as many shots as Cotto takes. Think about it. It was a great win for Pac who I like a lot but everybody got too excited about Margarito’s win over Cotto and I saw the same flaws and weaknesses Shane did. You all know that styles makes fights.. right?

Not all of his flaws and weaknesses. There were two more, hidden under his gloves and a couple of plastered pads.

Yeah I said it. You heard it here first.

I’ve heard it elsewhere before. You’re not the only one that sees that happening (which is why we all want this fight).
