Press release about John Ruiz:
"After knocking out Adnan Serin in Germany (Nov. 7), 2-time World Boxing Association heavyweight champion John "The Quietman" Ruiz returned home to Las Vegas, where he's shown in this photo celebrating in his game room smoking one of his favorite cigars, Padron Serie 1926 80th Anniversary. Ruiz, the first and only world heavyweight champion of Latino heritage, has a mandated WBA title fight against new champ David Haye next year. It will mark Ruiz' 12th world title fight."
I know a lot about John Ruiz thanks to his frequent press releases. Truthfully, I've come to like him, because I get so many glimpses into his life and he seems like such a nice dude. Maybe you also like cigars, and have some sort of comment on his cigar choice here. I don't know. But now you know.

There’s just something so weird about this photo. It’s hard to explain. It’s like looking at a slideshow of a family vacation, except there’s no family and their not on vacation. He doesn’t look like he’s really celebrating either. He looks like he’s posing awkwardly. With a cigar. Alone. In his “Game Room.” In his Room of Games.
And you know, if I had ever took the time to imagine what John Ruiz’s game room looked like, this would pretty much be the picture I’d see in my head. I can’t really explain that either, but there’s just something so Ruiz-like about it.

The cigar
is pretty cool. Few are made, the leaf and tobacco are Nicaraguan and they cost around 40 dollars each. The flavour is rather strong but perhaps not exciting enough to merit the price tag. Actually no where near exciting enough to merit the price tag!

Sounds like the perfect cigar for John, then.

I’m going to pretend that I set that up rather than simply being rubbish at seeing jokes!

Looks like a picture he might post on one of those E-Harmony type sites.

Yeah that is goofy looking. It makes me wonder if this is part of some half-baked attempt to get a product endorsement. Like, this is the sample for what they think the ad would look like. Next will be John kicking back poolside with tall glass of Nyquil.
