Rodel Mayol's controversial TKO2 victory over Edgar Sosa. Near the beginning of the second round, Mayol knocked down Sosa with a massive semi-intentional headbutt, for which Mayol was docked a point but Sosa was not given a full five minutes to recover. Still wobbly, the action restarted, and Mayol was able to knock down and then overwhelm Sosa for the victory. Don't be surprised if an immediate rematch is mandated.

Mayol
From the angles shown, that headbutt looked more than “semi-intentional.” Oh well…can’t do nothing about it now. The rematch should be decent, with Sosa winning if there are no more “accidental” head swings from Mayol. =P

Agreed
It probably should have been a DQ. The butt was hard enough that it fractured Sosa’s cheekbone.

Not sure there’ll be a rematch. Sosa has been dying to go up to 112, and it’s pretty hard to look at this loss like it’s any huge deal.

ya cause of weight the rematch prob wont happen, shame casue sosa was on quite the roll. sosa’s gonna contest it anyways but he prob wont win.
anyone one else wanna see segura vs. mayol … especially after segura’s comments after he demolished sonny boy! i wanna watch it … would love to see canchila back in the mix too … i really thought he gotta raw deal when he rematched giovanni
I think Segura would demolish Mayol as well
Outside of one fight, dude has looked like a beast. I just don’t know what was wrong with him the first Canchila fight. He seemed sluggish and afraid to pull the trigger there.
