what's the story with the weight issue rumors for Manny and Floyd?

Greetings all,

I've read a couple of stories (which might have no credibility, posted over the last 24 hours) about Floyd dropping out of the fight due to Team Manny not wanting to give him the weight wiggle room he enjoyed against Marquez.  However, what weight is or was agreed to remains unknown.  As a fan, I was worried about this possible development.  I don't see why both fighters could not meet at 147, as Floyd is not a huge or even big welterweight.  Unless of course Floyd suddenly feels like coming in over. What do all of you think about the weight issue, and the olympic drug testing that Mayweather's camp wants?

If its not at 147 then the fight shuld not be made.

Manny has had a couple of fights at 147 and yet he keeps insisting on having everyone else come in lower then they have in years. This is very petty of Manny and his team. Why would you want to fight a weight drained person. With his speed and power it is almost a guaranteed win for him. If I was Floyd I would refuse anything that is not the welterweight limit.

I haven't heard much about the weight issue

My understanding is that both guys already agreed to 147. If someone backs off from that, it’s because they other guy is trying to back off of something as well.

There is absolutely no credibility to this at all.

Does this smell like one side trying to get an edge

Yup. I see negotiations are still ongoing. Good to see, I guess.

No truth to it at all. The fight will be at 147.

If they let him, Manny will come in at 170.

Thanks for the feedback all. It goes without saying that I’m looking forward to this fight, though I’d still like to see it in May and not March.

Thanks again
