Whatever tests they want them to take, Shane will submit to that. We are not going to do other tests than the Nevada commission requires. The fact is Shane is not a cheater and he does not need to be treated like one.

To be fair
The stringent drug testing suggestions/demands most likely came from Floyd Sr. and Rodger and not Schaefer himself. He is just acting as a mouthpiece for the Mayweather camp. He might not personally agree with it, but his job isn’t to be morality judge, its to carry out the negotiations.
I’m aware, it’s just a funny quote all things considered.

Hmmm . . . interesting quote, considering Mosley was pegged for juicing.

Absolutely
Should be, “The fact is Shane is a cheater, and deserves to be treated like one”
"I'm not God - but I am something similar", Roberto Duran
That's exactly the point...
‘Hmmm . . . interesting quote, considering Mosley was pegged for juicing.’
At the time, the fact that Shane had been pegged for juicing led the opponent in question to request more stringent testing procedures than normal. Schaefer, on the basis of Shane’s current non-juiced status (and I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt), claimed that his current innocence meant he should be treated like any other fighter regardless of past guilty.
Naive and unrealistic in our world. But it IS Schaefer’s job to protect the interests of a man who (as one of De La Hoya’s partners in Golden Boy ownership) is essentially his boss.
However, the fact that Schaefer was so outspoken in defending the interests of his man when his man had a track record of steroid-use makes the current negotiations involving someone who has never been accused of such practices before his rivals (primarily Paulie Maglinaggi, who is a man with a serious chip on his shoulder, love or hate him, and Floyd Sr) started trash talking to cut him down and get some cheap publicity.

The fact that...
Gah.
… makes Schaefer’s position on behalf of the Mayweather camp especially amusing.
