Barrera-Khan fight may be in jeopardy
Barrera suffered a serious cut in his fight last night:
Ring legend Marco Antonio Barrera (65-6, 43 KOs) won by third round disqualification over emergency replacement Freudis Rojas (1-8-1) on Saturday night at the Auditorio Telmex de la UG in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. Rojas was DQ’d for a headbutt which left Barrera with a bad gash over his left eye. The cut could jeopardize Barrera’s scheduled March 14 clash against Amir Khan in Manchester, England. Barrera was originally slated to face John Nolasco on Saturday night, but Nolasco didn’t show up at the weigh-in, so Marco Antonio was pressed into facing Rojas, whom he knew absolutely nothing about.

UPDATE by SC:
The Daily Mail reports that Khan has "been assured" his fight with Barrera is still on, though I don't know how you could guarantee that right now:
Amir Khan has been assured his fight against Marco Antonio Barrera on March 14 is still on despite the Mexican suffering a cut above his left eye on Saturday.
Barrera was butted by Freudis Rojas in a non-title bout in Mexico and initial reports said the cut would need stitches, ruling out a clash with Khan in Manchester next month.

ugh
First of all, once Barrera got the Khan fight signed, he shouldn’t have been fighting on January 31 to begin with. He shouldn’t have been fighting Nolasco, and he sure as hell shouldn’t have been fighting a guy with a 1-8-1 record. Secondly, Nolasco’s a chump. Third, Rojas is a bigger chump.

To be honest.....
As a Barrera fan, I was glad he was fighting so soon before the Khan fight, simply because it gave him, in my opinion, a better chance of being in absolute top condition. I’ll be mightilty pissed if some chump butting him has cost him the chance to school Khan, but even with hindsight, I’d rather he took the fight than didn’t.
Does the fact a boxer doesn't switch weight divisions during their career detract from their overall P4P ranking?
Cos I'd take Hagler over most heavies in history, P4P, and also over "6 weight world champion" Oscar De La Hoya, and Marvellous Marvin never really messed about with his weight, did he?

maybe
Depending on the severity, you also have to spar and risk getting it cut back open.

You also have to stand on an Ivan Calderon point of view
He was ordered to be out for six months because of his gash. February was supposed to be his comeback but now its much later.
