The only thing I can say about Margarito is that I don't have respect for him. If someone has to put something in his wraps to win fights, he is not a good fighter.

Kermit Cintron, twice defeated by Antonio Margarito.

This is the definition of an issue that rocks a sport. Everyone in and around the sport has an opinion on it, and a strong one.

I can’t say I disagree with him… I don’t even think Cintron has been wobbled by anyone else.

Kermit Cintron is not a good fighter either

And he was wobbled by Jesse Feliciano. Manny Steward’s hype about Cintron got him somewhere, but he has a grand total of zero good wins on his record and he was smashed the two times he stepped up. If Margo just overwhelmed him, I’d maybe understand his argument, but Cintron was outboxed by Margarito in both fights. It takes a special kind of talent to actually get outboxed by Margarito. His hallmarks are stamina, chin and workrate, not his boxing ability. Yes Cintron managed to get outboxed, because Margarito is a better boxer than Cintron, and whether he has bricks in his gloves or wears actual pillows for gloves, Margarito beats Cintron 100 times out of 100.

Cintron should quit bitching. He’s just lucky that his management was able to get him a belt without actually fighting anyone better than a gatekeeper. Anyway, he’s going to get his ass kicked tomorrow.

Vogt early, Vogt often.

Citron forgets that he shot Margarito with really hard punches, and Margarito just smiled and pushed forward. His own trainer said so.

yup

Cintron’s a shitty boxer with a punch and Margarito ate him for a sensible dinner.

I AGREE

Cintron threw everything but the kitchen sink at Margarito and he took all of it and then finished him off. If they fight ten or 100 times same outcome. so stop whining like a litte vag.

Cintron is a puncher… nothing else. I think he might be one of the few guys that could do well in a MMA fight given his one punch knockout power.

You see him and he isn’t anything special but he does have some stinging pop in his punches and if you have that, you can make up alot of weaknesses.

I remember that HBO had badass introduction to him in his end fight vs Margarito and they were really pushing to make him out to be a complete boxer puncher….

They thought Manny Steward had changed him significantly. They were wrong. Cintron was the same old Cintron because he couldn’t knock the other guy around like he did Matthysse and Feliciano.

I know this is an old thread, and probably nobody will ever read this, but I just have to say that Cintron will only do well agst average mma guy. He can never be an elite mma guy. Fighters like George St. Pierre, or David Louseau would pick Cintron apart b/c they can box, plus they have other tools like ground game, kicks/knees/elbows. Cintron is in No man’s land, not good enough to box with the best, and not trained enough in martial arts to do mma. He’s just a glorifed fernando vargas, a guy all the greats have to beat in order to be great, and maybe a mayorga to a lesser extent.
