Barbara Quartey, the wife of former welterweight titlist Ike Quartey, passed away at the age of 47 in Accra, Ghana. Mrs. Quartey suffered from diabetes and was having trouble breathing on Friday when she was rushed to the hospital. Ike was by her side. The couple have two children, ages 21 and 13. Ike, 39, hasn't fought since facing old friend Winky Wright in December 2006 and losing a unanimous decision, and many comeback plans have fallen through.
