FERNANDO GUERRERO
That kid is a nice prospect. I heard they’re trying to lure him onto the wolves too early though. But I completely forgot where I read that at.
Anyone that has any decency... please let me know if the Urango-Ngoudjo's 10th round fight is over.

I expect it to be a quality fight. Mack did get a flash knockdown of Andrade… but he did get KO’ed later.

Pretty much
Although Henry has a really good chin as well. He took the best that Diaconu could dish out and kept coming, and despite not having a ton of KOs on his record, Diaconu is a really hard puncher. Someone close to his camp told me that for about a 5 fight stretch they had him make a concerted effort to go the distance so he could learn to box better and build up his endurance.
Anyway, mid-rounds TKO for both of them. Mack is sorely lacking in endurance, and while I don’t know much about Rosado, I know Guererro can throw leather.

Guerrero-Rosado R1
Rosado with a nice right down the pipe. Guerrero isn’t coming out all jumpy or anything. Guerrero with a jab, Rosado responds to the body. Rosado is flicking his left and staying away from Guerrero’s power. Rosado wins a quick exchange. Guerrero now throwing a little, but Rosado is shutting him down so far. Kind of a tentative first round.

Guerrero-Rosado R2
Guerrero reaching with a few jabs to start the round. Guerrero with a lazy straight left, kind of off-balance throwing it. But now he’s pressing Rosado some, and Rosado isn’t trying to counter so much. Rosado shoots with a right that doesn’t land. Right from Guerrero, followed by a left. Right-left short from Guerrero this time, and Rosado pot shots him as they both throw. Right from Rosado, and they trade shots again. Neither seemed to get the better of that but the crowd is exploding for everything Fernando does. Right hook from Guerrero, partially blocked. Now he’s unleashing combos — and then he pulls back. He’s not fighting stupidly, and that’s nice to see even if it’s not the most exciting possible thing.
Guerrero finds a hole and FIRES THE LEFT IN! Guerrero keeps throwing, Rosado meets him, and the bell ends the round.
Guerrero 10-9

Guerrero-Rosado R3
Rosado brings the right, Guerrero gets away from it. Right hook Guerrero thuds off of Rosado’s head, and Guerrero hits the mat off balance. They score it a knockdown, and I guess Rosado must have been throwing too. What can you do? It’s an official knockdown.
Guerrero is firing hard now, because he’s not hurt but he’s probably pissed. Rosado is meeting him and might be luring him into something. He wants to, at any rate. But Fernando is giving some pressure again, throwing the jab, now leading with the left.
Honestly the way he fell Guerrero’s lucky he didn’t hurt his hand or wrist.
Guerrero charges, now Rosado comes in and holds him, smothering himself. Rosado eats a glancing left at the end of the round.
Weird round to score. The knockdown counts.
Rosado 10-9
Rosado 29-28
"I was trying to rob him. And he took my gun from me. And the gun was full of blanks. And he shot a blank into my eye. And now I cannot see from this eye ever again, the doctors say."

Guerrero throwing and landing some good counter shots now. Guerrero making Rosado work, but both are landing. Guerrero firing like crazy, looking for the big left but not finding it just yet. Nice combo from Guerrero seems to sting Rosado. Right to the body from Guerrero, and THIS IS A FIGHT, BOYS!
Nice left Guerrero. There it is again. Right hook shoots in! Uppercut, right hook! Rosado just KEEPS ON PRESSING! Did Guerrero hit the ref?
Left hand, right hook! To the body! Guerrero with a HUGE round! Fantastic!

Guerrero-Rosado R5
Rosado with a right. Left from Guerrero, and here he comes again. BIG LEFT LANDS! ANOTHER ONE! Rosado is on his horse! Guerrero chasing Rosado, whose face is starting to swell pretty nicely. Rosado eats a right hook inside, and he gets away and Guerrero just goes back to stalking him. Guerrero stings him again, now Rosado’s on the ropes — and he gets off.
Left down the pipe, and another. Neither land clean, but they got through the guard with no resistance. Rosado is getting tired and beaten up. Rosado throws a right to the back of Guerrero’s head, it was an accident.
Right hook Guerrero, then a three-punch combo. Rosado is tough but he’s getting wailed on the last two rounds. Rosado ducks a 1-2. Bell sounds.
Guerrero 10-9

Guerrero-Rosado R6
Rosado comes out thundering this round, but Guerrero is staying right in there and hammering away. Guerrero is so active with his hands. He goes to the body if it’s open when they’re both inside, he’ll go upstairs if that’s available. Nice thudding shots from Guerrero. Rosado eats a left trying to throw first. Three right hooks from Guerrero. 1-2 from Guerrero. Right hand Rosado.
Left hand Guerrero! That was a solid punch. Guerrero banging away inside, looking to break Rosado’s guard with his uppercuts. Guerrero might be running out of some gas this round. Rosado is bleeding from the mouth and his right eye is getting ugly.
Guerrero 10-9

Guerrero-Rosado R7
First minute of this round leads me to think Guerrero might be a little tired. He’s thrown big the last three rounds. But here comes Guerrero turning him around and getting himself out of any trouble.
Rosado is a little more active this round and with a minute left it’s open for a winner. GREAT uppercuts from Guerrero, and now he’s got Rosado hurt again, but goddamn Rosado just stays in the pocket, even though he ends this exchange just trying to tie up and survive. Two rights for Rosado. He’s beaten up and he’s still fighting. Teddy sees the open uppercut for Guerrero, and he’s 100% accurate.

Guerrero-Rosado R8
Rosado’s corner has to know he needs a KO. Guerrero taunting, crowd is alive, and Fernando wants to mix it up. And he is mixing it up. Rosado looking for good counter opportunities. What a great crowd this is. I hope they stick around for what should be a hell of a main event too.
Guerrero keeps showboating. Hands are dropped, he’s staying outside, daring Rosado. Probably a bad idea and I hope his corner jumps up his ass for that, because a quicker, stronger puncher will drop him like a rock for that. Guerrero’s arrogance is pretty heavy this round, but he’s still winning the round because Rosado can’t do anything, since he has nothing left.
Guerrero 10-9

Bars. Lots and lots of bars.
It is a college town.
And a wildfowl art museum. Seriously.
OK, there’s not much to do. But Ocean City, MD is just 30 miles away. LOTS to do there.

main event odds
As of this afternoon the books had the main event a “pick ’em” with both guys listed at -115. For those who don’t follow gambling that means you have to bet $115 to win $100 the farther into the negative the bigger favorite one guy is. So both guys listed with the same odds it means there is no “gambling favorite”

which usually means someone in Vegas is “clued in” to something. Not that the fight is fixed…but maybe rumors of an injury…or something behind the scenes that a camp is trying to keep quiet.

Henry-Mack R1
First minute is tentative. Henry with a jab to the body. Henry wants to go in quick, but he doesn’t want to stay very long. Mack is really doing nothing at all. Henry with a couple nice shots. Henry throwing some big shots. And there’s a right from Mack, and now they’re thudding. Henry got hurt a little, and there’s tow more hard shots from Yusaf.
Once Mack threw, the round got a lot closer. Sadly he only threw in the last 30 seconds.
Henry 10-9

Henry-Mack R2
This is a little slower than I expected, honestly. Mack seems a little lazy and Henry a little tentative. They’re throwing some wild stuff here and there. Henry is chopping with some goofy right hands that aren’t landing clean. He’s really throwing at the back of Mack’s head, which is part Mack’s fault. Maybe it’s the high of the crowd in the last fight but this has been sloppy and disappointing through two. Not much power puncher ragin’.
And Mack lands a couple rights at the end of the round. But he spent too much of it ducking around and not fighting for me.
Henry 10-9

Henry-Mack R3
Henry is throwing his jab plenty but not really landing it. Mack is landing better power punches. Referee finally warns for punching to the back of the head. And here they go a little, with Mack showing his speed and laying it in. Mack unloading with heavy shots. Henry to the body, warned for going low.
I’m hoping this picks up, but Mack finally fought enough of the round to win one on my card.
Mack 10-9

And before you laugh about "urban area"
I’vbe had two of my wrestlers picked up for 1st degree murder in the last 18 months. Yeah, we have gangs here, especially Latin gangs. Which makes Fernando’s story that much more special. We’ve lost a lot of kids like him down here. One of my two fell in with the local Latin Kings and now, at age 16, is looking at life . Hal Chernoff has saved a lot of kids down here.

He's probably going to knock him out now...
But I think you’re seeing that Mack being naturally smaller is in play here because he has caught Henry flush and doesn’t seem to be making him change his gameplan. I don’t think this is boring at all. I think it is fairly interesting in a more “subtle” way.

Henry-Mack R4
Henry with a heavy right, and then Henry flies to the ground as they get tangled up. Mack’s left is low too much, but Henry’s been open for the right hands all night long. These two just aren’t meshing well. Mack with a couple of stiff rights. I think Henry just got warned again for using his head to come inside. Yeah, that’s what Joe says. That’s three warnings for three different things.
Mack ducks down and Henry considers a headlock. Henry warned again for using his head. This fight is bowling shoe ugly, so I guess Teddy’s vignette was prophetic.
Mack 10-9
