Angulo needs another opponent as Perez pulls out
FanPost front paged by SC.
BoxingScene.com has been informed that Danny Perez (34-5, 17KOs) has withdrawn from his upcoming fight with junior middleweight prospect Alfredo Angulo (14-0, 11KOs) scheduled for the February 14 HBO televised tripleheader from the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.
Perez is the second opponent to pull out in less than two weeks. Last week, former two division champion Ricardo Mayorga pulled out after a reported injury claim, which turned out to be a move for more money.
...
"I heard two stories. One person said he has problems making the weight and another person said it has to do with money," Shaw told BoxingScene.com. "I am hunting for a replacement."
It seems very questionable if Angulo could get a respectable opponent that HBO will sign off on in less than a weeks noticed.

that sucks bad. Who will be willing to fight on 4 days notice? Nobody who will actually try to win. Scrap it and put him on a different card or put in a true punching bag? The way Angulo fights, KOing someone with no intention of winning won’t really help him in any way in my opinion. I’d scrap and put him on another card. Damn shame

This is getting ridiculous now
Anyone that has any decency... please let me know if the Urango-Ngoudjo's 10th round fight is over.

you know what
Seriously move him to a later card. See if you can get someone to fight him in Houston on the 28th or feature him on Dawson-Tarver, which is another Shaw event.

great googly moogly
I’d fight this kid, at this point (although I’d probably have to cut off an arm and a leg to make weight.) Not that I’m convinced Freddie is a world-beater, but this is just absolute bullshit now for this kid. just a waste.
Oh and f**k Mayorga. I don’t care if I ever see him fight again. Just f**k him.

yeah I really don’t care if I ever see Mayorga again. But then I was never really a fan. I didn’t really care if I ever saw him again prior to the Mosley fight.

I was a huge Mayorga fan
and I don’t care if I ever see him again either. He’s a chump.

Oscar De La Hoya!!
Only joking, but it would be interesting, for many reasons….
Does the fact a boxer doesn't switch weight divisions during their career detract from their overall P4P ranking?
Cos I'd take Hagler over most heavies in history, P4P, and also over "6 weight world champion" Oscar De La Hoya, and Marvellous Marvin never really messed about with his weight, did he?
