Diaz has not proven he can fight thru adversity. I think that is what will limit him when he faces the creme of the crop. Marquez might not have the best chin in the business but he has a motor and a desire to get up and keep fighting even when he is hurt of bothered with a cut, swelling or a knockdown. I was saying to my friends… “se encabrona” when someone hits him(Marquez) and just want to give whatever he took.

You should probably re-watch the 9th.

by control i don’t mean he was dominating, but as far as i can remember for about a little more than half a round it looked like he was going to have a nice comeback round and make it safe till at least the 10th. however, as the dude below said JMM is one tough bastard and he hurt the baby bull.

gotta rewatch it though, as i’ve mentioned before this could just be my bias talkin and defending baby bull at all cost

I respectfully disagree

He was throwing all he had though. He went down in a blaze of glory. I think had he stayed composed he was definitely still in the fight, but it WAS a pretty bad cut that likely did blur his vision some.

I still have the image of Marquez after the 3rd knockout when he faced Manny. He got hit flush on the floor when he was down( which could have been a DQ Mr Cortez), but he got back up and made it out of the round. You saw his face all fucked up. Broken nose and all. He was prolly inhaling blood.

I think we are a bit hard on Diaz but we have to put some scope on Marquez. Marquez is an all time great and HOF. We all realize that now, it was just a remarkable finish from a guy who beat the the younger man at his own game.

I think he has a case that he has a better resume than both Morales and Barrera now.

I AGREE

Marquez is great, I wen’t to the fight sat ringside and I got meet The Great JMM. I give alot of credit to The Baby Bull, the only thing that hurts him, he has no power in his punches. If Joe Cortez would have taken a point from MP when he hit Marquez when he was down just like they did to Barrera Marquez wins even though I saw the fight twice and I thought Marquez won. Marquez vs MP 3 would be awesome.
