If I get Telemundo, I might tune in for the Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. fight. I think my cable charges extra for all the Spanish language channels though, which is a pain.

The Abraham-Simon card (which is a solid card from top to bottom, including Brewster-Sprott and Cecilia Braekhus in a women’s unification bout) is on ARD, which usually merans that there’s a legal live stream of it available somewhere if you can find it. If I can track down that link, I’ll try posting it here; could be a decent free alternative to buying Khan-Barrera (or if you’re crazy like me, you can stream one on the computer while you watch the other one on TV).

However, I found out that when ARD worked out a deal with Setanta to put all their boxing shows as small PPVs in the UK, they stopped putting their boxing shows online. Oh well. I probably watched 4 or 5 of Abraham’s fights that way.

He lost to Pavlik and Inkin
But did well against Zertuche and exposed Oganov. He is what he is, not world class, but better than a gatekeeper.

Zuniga coming right at Bute, who’s working the jab in. Bute also throwing the straight left. Doubles up on the jab. Zuniga kind of fumbling his way inside with right hands. Right hook Bute. Bute trying to counter punch, comes up a hair short. Zuniga with a right. Zuniga trying to snap Bute back whenever he gets the chance, but it’s not there too much. Bute stings him with a counter. Stiff counter jab by Bute. He gets him with a left after. Good opening round for the hometown guy.

Zuniga isn’t going to win the match if the fight is in the middle of the ring.

Zuniga trying to land his jab and his right, but not finding much. There’s a shot to the dick from Bute. No call by the referee. Bute with a counter left. And now he goes inside on him. Bute with a few shots, Zuniga backs down. Left to the body by Bute. Stings him upstairs. Zuniga doesn’t look like he has much to offer. Counter right from Bute again. Zuniga in and caught, but he’s throwing a little bit. Left hand down the pipe backs Zuniga down once more. He’s having all kinds of stylistic problems with Bute. Left hand from Bute.

I have to say
Bute looks like he’s really improved a lot technically in the past couple years. He’s putting on a masterclass so far, more convincing than what Pavlik or Santos did.

Bute backing down Zuniga over and over. Zuniga’s just getting nothing of note off. Zuniga covering up and the crowd comes alive. Zuniga’s fighting with no purpose whatsoever. Left hand down the pipe again. Left to the body again. Bute backs him down once more with a wild left and then a jab. Zuniga misses FOUR shots just horribly. Bute is peppering him at will. This is a total mismatch thus far.

Bute is taking Zuniga apart. His punching is just awful tonight. He’s not even close to hitting Bute. Bute backs him down again, and stings him AGAIN just after. The left hand is landing at will. Low blow! Low blow!
They’re counting him. That looked low.
Jeez, it’s a knockdown. It’s over for all intents and purposes. Dude, stop the fight. Well nevermind, Zuniga starts throwing with all he’s got.
