I ordered this event
Why?
Cause I was at work and couldn’t resist
Anyways Montiel and Soto looked fantastic. I figured they would considering their opponents.
The Diaz-Castro fight was a really amazing fight to watch as well.
As for Chavez Jr, I clearly thought he lost. He was getting man handled by Cuello for the majority of the fight. The home field advantage clearly had it’s way. I mean one judge had it 98-92?!
Jokes.
I wouldn’t through Chavez Jr anywhere near a “name” yet.
Unless it’s in Tijuana.

I am lucky that I got Azteca… got to see the fight for free,
Montiel looked like a roman god. I want to see him vs Vic.
Soto was outclassing that guy from Atlanta.
Chavez is stupid. He leans forward the majority of the time when he is fight. The Azteca commentators were ripping for not using his height and jab. He didn’t dictate the fight at all. I thought he won by 2 rounds but that 98-92 scorecard was crazy, Even his dad was going apeshit on how piss poor he fought. They said they went to fight in NYC vs Duddy….lol.
Arum had a brief interview saying that he is glad that Azteca is committed to boxing and hopes to have more cards in Mexico.
Anyways… there is something about having a fight in a bullring that is fucking awesome.
PS… support boxing and drink Tecate. I love the Mexican Commericals before during and after the rounds.

Duddy kicks Jr's ass, if it happens
They’ll keep having him fight scrubs in Mexico until people stop paying for it.

GREAT FIGHT
cuello was no Chump, Jr. was leaning and was not throwing his Jab or upper cut till the late rounds though he threw alot of body shots. I would like to see him fight Duddy, let’s remember in the ring nobody is a Scrub cause you might underestimate your opponent the scrub and he might be more hungry than you who thinks I will just blow past this Clown. I caught most of it on the internet.
I missed the Diaz-Castro fight but saw the others. I agree with you on Montiel and Soto. It was a draw at beast for Chavez. While he does alot of things good he can not put it all together. He’s got almost no power and he is pretty slow as well he has topped out in my opinion.
As for the other two fights. Dirrell simply let the other guy stay in there with him for some reason. When he actually worked he was hurting him then he would do nothing. Also when he had him hurt he goes into a whirlwind of left uppercuts, this is not the first time he has done this, and forgets about any other punch. He kinda of disappointed me with this performance. The Yorgey fight was decent. He needs to work on letting his hands go more and not standing with a high guard so much. He also needs to work on his finishing. He could of had him out of there a lot sooner if he would have just thrown punches. Also when he was knocked down it looked to me like Hearns was standing on his foot.

BTW, Yorgey was hilarious after the fight
Hearns Sr. cracked a joke with Yorgey, and Yorgey seemed pretty starstruck.

Chavez Jr
I watched this last night and thought he did enough to earn it. Cuello was up for it. Chavez does ok at this level. Championship im not going to be sure.
Looks like Hearns has Inherited Daddys chin :)

Did anyone else smell something funny in the Dirrell - Findley fight?
I’m not trying to start anything. I like Andre Dirrell, as a matter of fact. But something was just off about the ending to me. It was more a vibe I got then anything… Findley’s demeanor in the corner and directly after the fight, mainly. It’s hard to explain, but something just didn’t really sit right with me. Somebody check me and tell me I’m nuts.

I watched the fight online and was trying to do other shit at the same time.
My synopsis: Dirrell tries to stop him in the first, and while he hit Findley very cleanly several times, he never seemed to really hurt Findley. Even so, the ref appeared to be very close to stopping the fight at the end of the first because Findley was playing pure hard shell against the ropes. Then, the fight got more competitive, relatively speaking, Findley landed a few body punches, still got hit cleanly and still never appeared to be in any imminent danger. It was an odd ending because Findley wasn’t hurt and he wasn’t completely ineffective, but it was a fight where the outcome appeared to be completely certain.
As soon as it was called, Findley collectedly walked over and congratulated Dirrell.
It was weird because Findley was never really getting hurt and he quit anyway. As far as being fixed, it seems like an odd way to fix a fight. I mean, if you’re going to pay off one of the guys, it looks better if he goes down from a seemingly devastating punch. Findley could’ve made one of those punches look devastating if he tried. I didn’t think it was fixed.
