Bad Left Hook Fight Night Prediction Standings, Week 4

Slide_14_medium

via www.hbo.com

And now, your updated BLH prediction standings. I'm bumping "non-active" pickers to a second standings table in the extended portion of the post that can be seen on the clickthrough. "Non-active" just means you didn't pick in the most recent picks thread and totally for my own ease in keeping things updated.

Correct Kirkland "KO" Picks: Chaos100 and Matt Miller both got JK in six. Those were the only KOs. No one took a NC for Guerrero-Yordan or Ortiz in two.

I Always Wanted to Be a Tenenbaum: The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my favorite movies. There's a part where Pagoda stabs Royal, which has happened in the past, and Royal responds with, "That's the last time you stick a knife in me, you hear?!" Myself, sonofapsycho, Brickhaus, keyz and thebitb are a bunch of Royals, and Joel Julio is Pagoda.

Still Unbeaten After All These Weeks: Matt and jrok are still without a "loss," as both are now 10-0-3. Matt picking up the Kirkland KO put him into what would technically be "first place," I guess. Both have been on board all four weeks and picked every fight.

Thanks, Ghost: Robert Guerrero convincing the referee and doctor that he simply could not continue put another D on most of our records. Some didn't pick the fight at all because no one knew anything about Daud Yordan really. No one picked Yordan, though. Guerrero was the overwhelming favorite, and if I recall correctly all picks were by stoppage.

Chris John being soundly robbed, and Guerrero (who I wasn’t even going to pick, the bastard….) being a bloody fool have cost me…

Does the fact a boxer doesn't switch weight divisions during their career detract from their overall P4P ranking?

Cos I'd take Hagler over most heavies in history, P4P, and also over "6 weight world champion" Oscar De La Hoya, and Marvellous Marvin never really messed about with his weight, did he?

Could I suggest....

That another column is added to the list, before Wins. ‘Fights’ would be good there, just like on a bona fide boxing record…

F—W—L—D—KO

43-41-2-0 (28)

It would just make it easier and more familiar. Then again, I may be in the minority…

I picked Guerrero UD

Only because I did not know Daud Yordan from Philip Yordan (writer of the classic westerns “Broken Lance” and “Johnny Guitar” and the superb epic “The Fall of the Roman Empire”, which is basically a better, more historically accurate version of Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator”… but I digress….)

Anyway, I figured Yordan’s head might have been made out of concrete for all I knew. Picking the round just seemed presumptuous.

It like you don't want me on there

You left me out last week also. Just kidding the list is getting kind of long you are bound to miss someone. Thanks for checking.
