Next for Roy Jones Jr. - Jeff Lacy

Jones says he has a verbal deal to fight Jeff Lacy next. The fight will be promoted by Square Ring and will have MMA bouts on the card. Expect something similar to his card against Omar Sheika.

Jones also mentions that he still wants Anderson Silva after his UFC contract expires.

This also puts Tomasz Adamek back out in the cold, since Hopkins lowballed him and no network wanted to pick up a Glen Johnson fight.

It stuns me that Versus wouldn’t think to grab Adamek-Johnson. Or ESPN2. That fight can’t be THAT expensive.

To me, it looks like Versus is backtracking on their budget

It’s been a bad year for advertising sales so far, so there’s less money to purchase events that might not turn them much of a profit. By ‘no network’ though I meant HBO and Showtime. My understanding is that it has as much to do with timing as anything though, and that they’re kind of holding their breath at the moment while waiting to see where the chips fall in Mayweather fallout.
