Daniel Jacobs officially replaces James Kirkland
Daniel Jacobs (15-0, 14 KO) is now officially the opponent for Michael Walker on the Hatton-Pacquiao undercard, replacing James Kirkland, who has a whole other set of problems right now.

This won't prove much
Jacobs beating up on a junior middleweight. About as good as they could hope for on such short notice, I guess. I’d almost rather see Jason LeHoullier get the fight, who was supposed to fight Vernon Forrest on the Taylor-Froch undercard until Forrest got hurt a couple days before the fight.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
He is going to face a can…

Walker’s not quite a can. He IS, however, exceptionally undersized (he’s been fighting around 160 and even 168, but dude is 5’7" to Jacobs’ 6’1") and presents no danger.

It's the same guy Kirkland was going to face
It was a tune-up fight for Kirkland, but Kirkland’s MUCH more experienced than Jacobs; on the other hand, he’s also a natural 154 pounder. If he was facing a natural 168 pounder with Walker’s skill set and resume, I’d say it was a nice step up, but as it is, it’s a showcase fight against someone who should get beaten easily. His fights with Echols were exciting, but Echols is shot to shit, and he didn’t show a very high skill level. Sort of a pressure fighter, if I remember correctly.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
i just think that he isn’t going to break a sweat… and that is what a can does. They are there to make him look good, not to test him.

BTW
Anyone know if they’re going to make the untelevised undercard available online? They’ve done it a couple times before, and the undercard is a veritable who’s who of Top Rank’s and GBP’s prospects are, all in showcase fights (Matt Korobov, Erislandy Lara, Daniel Jacobs, Abner Mares, Bernabe Concepcion, Mike Alvarado).
Vogt early, Vogt often.
FULL UNDERCARD
anyone have a list of all the undercards?
here's what Dan Rafael has (and keep in mind some of the cans might change)
Televised:
Ricky Hatton vs. Manny Pacquiao, 12 rounds, for Hatton’s Ring magazine junior welterweight title
Humberto Soto vs. Benoit Gaudet, 12 rounds, for Soto’s WBC junior lightweight title
Daniel Jacobs vs. Michael Walker, 8 rounds, middleweights
Matvey Korobov vs. Rodrigo Aguiar, 4 rounds, middleweights
Erislandy Lara vs. Chris Gray, 4 rounds, junior middleweights
Off-TV:
Mike Alvarado vs. Juaquin Gallardo, 10 rounds, junior welterweights
Abner Mares vs. Jonathan Perez, 10 rounds, bantamweights
Bernabe Concepcion vs. Yogli Herrera, 10 rounds, featherweights
Matthew Hatton vs. Ernesto Zepeda, 8 rounds, welterweights
Joe Murray vs. TBA, 4 rounds, lightweights
Rafael keeps the most well-maintained schedule around, too: http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?page=boxing/schedule/index

for some reason my time warner tv guide lists bernabe concepcion vs steven lueveno as one of the undercards. this has to be an error on their part right?

It was supposed to be, so yeah that’s just a mistake.
