Zab Judah's opponent for the Mayweather-Marquez undercard will be Matthew Hatton. This at least seems like a solid undercard fight, although it's a huge step up for Hatton, who's been on a winning streak against mostly faded domestic British competition.

oh good god

Matthew Hatton’s a nice enough fellow and this, frankly, bothers me. Judah’s going to rip him apart. Plus Judah should be fighting someone worth a damn, no offense to Matthew.

"bothers me"

I should clarify it’s just because I think he’s nowhere near Judah’s class. God knows he’ll come to win, though.

This is the same Judah

That lost to Carlos Baldomir. CARLOS BALDOMIR. I don’t think there is any danger to life, limb or eyesight for Hatton. This is not Antonio Tarver being put in the ring with Rocky Marciano

Gimme 1 round!

ok, but matthew Hatton is not a prime Carlos Baldomir, not even close to it. I’ll watch but I really think Hatton’s gonna get his ass kicked bad.

Little Hatton is a club fighter who has been getting hand-picked names like a badly faded Ben Tackie. Judah might be faded as well, but he’s still a damn good fighter and in a different league than Matt Hatton.

Matthew’s got only one shot to win this fight: he’s the bigger man. Matthew’s a natural welterweight, while Zab has always been a 140 lber in welterweight clothes. In any case Matthew can’t punch and doesn’t possess the overall ability of big little brother Ricky. So I see this as another one of Zab’s shutout decisions against limited opposiiton while waiting for an undeserved title shot, which he’ll get eventually, because Zab Judah’s name still looks good on a record.

Someone who had never seen Matthew asked me how he fights. I said, “He’s like Ricky with less God-given athletic ability.” I didn’t really mean that as a compliment to Ricky’s God-given natural athletic ability, either.

that’s about right. A less talented Ricky

The Marquez’s and the Klitschko’s aside, it seems that in most boxing brother acts all or most of the good pugilistic genes reside in one brother, It puzzles me.
