Punch-Out!! for Wii coming May 18
So who's pumped? Who's buyin' right away? Who digs the music?
I think I just might have to actually get it. And like the original, never actually beat the game.

Tyson
I was the first person I knew that beat Tyson on the original. What a great game. It is all about timing and I played countless hours on that game. Really looking forward to this game.

I'll get it
Just because I’ve wanted to have a boxing game where you actually throw punches (and the sensitivity on Wii boxing was just awful), but I’m disappointed that it looks almost exactly like the original. Maybe they’re going for a younger demographic that doesn’t remember the original or something, but it takes some of the fun out of it when I still remember how to beat the first 8 or so guys.
Vogt early, Vogt often.

Brickhaus—>I’m with you about a legit boxing game coming to the Wii. It will happen when they release “motion plus” & maybe even incorporate the balance board. But Punchout is nothing more than a rhythm game. It was never meant to be a sports simulator. It’s fun as hell but not b/c it’s even close to actual boxing. If I have money to burn, I will definitely buy this since the original was a classic & I missed the SNES version.
PS: One thing I learned about Wii Sports Boxing that made it much more responsive….if you flick punches (Floyd Mayweather style, ha!) instead of actually punching it will register much better. And playing against a real person can be pretty damn fun since blocking & dodging work exceptionally well just by putting your hands together or leaning.

Punch-Out was one of the all time classics. One of these days, when Max Kellerman asks a victorious little lightweight “who do you want next”, instead of doing the whole “I just listen to my promoter”, I want him to call out Klitschko, and then say he knows how to beat him through Punch-Out.
Slip, slip — right upper left upper right upper left upper STAR PUNCH!

Yup, i too can say I never beat the original either, Tyson usually dispatched of me in brutal fashion in 1. But I’ll tell you, I sure could put a beating on Bald Bull, it’s like he would just walk into my shots.

Tyson
I could beat Tyson, but I couldn’t beat Super Macho Man. What gives?
