Tim Sylvia vs. Ray Mercer now a MMA match
Our bloody buddies at Bloody Elbow are reporting that the fight between Tim Sylvia and Ray Mercer this weekend is now going to be an MMA match instead of a boxing match. Honestly, it was never officially a boxing match to begin with. I guess there were some legal issues. Anyway, I don't think this should hinder anyone from making fun of the fight in the Cotto-Clottey round by round.

I'm fairly sure...
this is still going to be a boxing match. They are just getting around a legal issue on a technicality by calling it mma. I think they will probably still stand and box
Probably
I imagine it will be like the Tommy Morrison matches, where people need to throw a knee once in a while, but mostly stand up boxing. Also, 4 oz gloves.

hmm
whats this say about mma regulations that they would allow this dogshit and a boxing commission won’t?
This fight is unregulated. Sanctioned MMA operates under the same oversight as Sanctioned Boxing.
