Haye now targeting Vitali?
Keeping in mind that The Sun isn't the most credible source in the world, they're reporting that Haye is lining up a September 12 date to fight the other Klitschko. A few other sources have picked up on this one as well, including the (UK) Daily Telegraph.

This could potentially result in a “coup-de-grace” that sees Wlad beating Chageav and, with his newly gained WBA Super Champion status, forcing Valuev into a WBA standoff. Its also possible that a title fight with Vitali before the end of the year was dangled in front of Haye to sweeten the pot even more, while Wlad sorts out Chageav and Povetikin, and corners Valuev. Based on how stationary Vitali looked against Gomez, Haye and Booth may actually believe they have a better chance against Vitali anyway.
Heheh. I mean, I know he’d negotiated to fight Vitali anyway… but only if he made it through Wlad first. In any case, interesting stuff happening right now.

Haye can probably hit him
But unless Haye hits him with the best punch of his life in the first couple minutes and catches Vitali cold it won’t matter.

I agree.
Haye is too fast and mobile for Vitali now. The big man can hardly move. I still think if he buzzees allover him he can knock him over, as he is so stiff (like a big fuck-off oak tree), and if he goes over, he won’t get back up. I said before,I don’t think Haye can hurt him, I don’t think he can knock him out, but I do think he can knock him over (ie- off balance) and if Vitali is anything like as immobile as he was vs Gomez then he won’t be able to drag himself to his feet.
On a (slightly) related issue, am I dreaming, or did it used to be a rule that boxers couldn’t use the ropes to drag themselves up to beat the count? I may be remembering this completely wrong, but I am under the impression that the rule was that the fighter had to be able to get up unassisted, yet I see fighters dragging themselves up using the ropes all the time now, a la Rocky II…. someone please set me straight on this?

Need to be able to stand unassisted
You need to be off the ropes by the end of the 10-count, but you can pick yourself up using the ropes.
