Brian Kenny-Floyd Mayweather Jr. II on ESPN

Brian Kenny and Floyd Mayweather Jr. just went head-to-head again on SportsCenter, a follow-up to their memorable encounter a couple months ago that had the boxing world talking. It almost seems like this might become semi-regular; the two clash heads a bit, but they seem to work well together as an interviewer and interviewee. It's never dull.

Kenny grilled Mayweather a bit less than last time, but still got him to sound a little less than sure of himself when talking about Shane Mosley and Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather again said that Pacquiao has the worst deal in boxing, getting just "27%" of his earnings with Bob Arum, and he says that he'll make more against Marquez than Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton made combined for their May showdown. Floyd, as usual, reverted to boasting when asked a legitimate question about his career.

Could you please link the first interview? I'm fairly sure I saw it on here, but can't find it?

yeah I’d watch that again. I think it was linked on here a while back. It may still be in the archives. Hilarious to see Mayweather nervously and ragefully clapping his hands as Kenny ran his show.

Yeah I read some of his comments.

He was being his usual boastful self and constantly contradicting himself from time to time.

I wonder if hes on drugs during the interview one moment he would say something and then the next moment contradict himself entirely.

He mentioned fighting Pacquiao a few times and then he would say the fight won’t happen. It was all very confusing.

Floyd Mayweather > You (and Me).

Looks like Paul Wight (WWE’s Big Show, who Floyd “beat” at Wrestlemania XXIV) hit Floyd a few times too many… Floyd is a fall from grace waiting to happen. The only reason I’m not pulling for Marquez to beat his ass up is that I really, really, really want Pacquiao to f**k him up bad.

BK: How is the paper work for the fight going?

MAY: I don’t talk about my personal life. That’s my business. I don’t ask you about your personal life like if you and your wife signed a prenup.

BK: [laughing] Okay.

::Moments later::

May: I make money. I am good financially. I get a check every month for $2 million dollars…

Great way to not talk about personal life.

The answer Kelly wanted

Wasn’t a money answer, it was a “Is Floyd Mayweather Jr. going to continue boxing after Marquez, and who is it going to be with?” To which he was given the answer that Mayweather is planning to stay active. Floyd’s money isn’t personal as long as it’s a lot. Money is obviously the #1 motivator for the guy. He kind of dodged that question because if he has signed a long term deal then we can expect to see him in x number of fights per year. Personally I am assuming he has a long term contract, but it’s has a lot of "If"’s in it. Like “If” Mayweather beats Marquez, “If” he decides to fight again, etc etc. Money isn’t personal to Mayweather as much as it is an object used to promote his status. That was a slick answer though, “I have a long term relationship with God” he really keeps Kelly on his toes and forces him to word his questions precisely, but even still you can always tell Mayweather is half listening and never really ready to give up on a point if he’s cut off.

Anyone would think boxing is done in a bank. I cant believe he can answer every question with numbers. So what if you draw a big gate or make millions more than whoever you cant shadow box in a ring and expect people to pay, you NEED another person in the ring, and if he is such a big cash cow no matter who he fights they wont be doing “floyd mayweather numbers” like him.
I loved how Kenny set up his Pac question. I dont think Mayweather saw it coming.\
I’m a Mayweather fan of him in the ring but outside it he annoys me. Someone needs to tell him, if your going to play the bad guy, you need someone else to be the good guy
