Soto-Valero to Undercard Paquiao-Cotto?!!

Fightnews has reported the posibility of WBC Superfeather weight Champion Humberto Soto to go up in weight and challenge Edwin Valero for the WBC lightweight title. The headliner alone is a immense clash and a must buy PPV for all. If this gets added to the plate it will be perhaps three times as great.

Well all know how things are hyped by TOP RANK (specially with the title no one cares about), but if this does come true they will have a great event on their hands and not just a Pacquiao-Cotto event. I hope it all goes well.

Dan Rafael talked about this possibility last week. Valero-Soto would be awesome.

definitely a plus. Boxing is not dead….they just need to put together quality cards, especially in today’s economy.

Yeah, I don’t think promoters have taken this idea seriously enough. The thing is, with a show like Cotto-Pacquiao, Floyd-JMM, Hatton-Pacquiao, Oscar-Pacquiao, etc., you might have “market research” defending the idea that people “don’t care” about undercards, but a lot of people do, and if you show them good fights and good fighters they might latch onto those guys they’d otherwise perhaps never have seen. Valero and Soto are both really exciting guys and will make for a hell of a scrap, however long it lasts.
