Daniel Jacobs to face Ishe Smith on August 22nd!

Not sure if this has been posted, but Fightnews is reporting that "The Golden Child" Daniel Jacobs will be facing Ishe Smith on August 22nd. This bout is also reported as an undercard for the Juan Diaz-Paulie Malignaggi main event. Unfortunately, from the HBO promotions I have not seen Jacobs as a televized fight. The HBO commercial only shows the Robert Guerrero-Malcolm Klassen and the Diaz-Malignaggi fights. If that is the case, I sure hope Espn or VS or some one televises the Jacobs-Smith bout.

Daniel Jacobs is 17-0 with 15 kos, while Ishe Smith is 21-3 with 9 kos. Smith is not much of a big puncher or a push over; nonetheless, he can take a punch. However, Smith does tend to leave himself open most of the time so let's see how that can be come a factor for Jacobs. Personally, I think this would be an excellent test for Jacobs.

Yeah… just saw the commercial this morning on HBO. Great!

It should be a good test for Jacobs, but I see him outclassing Smith.

He’s never faced someone as tricky or slick as Smith before though. Seems like a solid step up to me.

sickle, who else is making up the undercard. i just bought a ringside/front row for 250. well priced i think. for front row. and i think paulie has something left to make this a bit tricky for the baby bull…..then again i am biased

The rest of the undercard doesn't appear to be set yet

But with three big name fights on the main, don’t expect anyone too flashy.
