Jesus Soto Karass Continues His Run towards a Title -- MaxBoxing.com
Feature article on the always-exciting Jesus Soto Karass from MaxBoxing's Gabriel Montoya. JSK is one of those guys I really hope gets to win an alphabet title. I don't like the titles to begin with, but if they're going to exist and become ways for a lot of bums to call themselves "champion," at least let's get one on a likable dude like Jesus.

Russian contender gets Atlas back into the fight game - Staten Island Advance
Teddy Atlas' return to the training game with Alexander Povetkin hopefully won't turn out quite as bad as his commentary has been this year. Atlas reached some dizzying heights in absurdity last night in Florida on the Friday Night Fights season finale, working with substitute play-by-play guy Bob Wischusan.

Showmanship in Boxing: is It Really Necessary? - newsblaze.com
A bizarre read. Let me answer the headline question: No. No it isn't. Not at all. It is absolutely, 100%, without a question not "necessary." Actual quote from article: ""There are special fighters who require no extraordinary stagecraft to be recognized as among the elites in boxing: Manny Pacquiao and Edwin Valero." Over/under on Valero fights seen by writer: 1.5.

Atlas was a joke last night.

I introduced my friend to boxing with last nights fights, and my friend literally kept asking if this guy was for real and what his credentials were.

Terrible.

Atlas

I got mixed feelings about Teddy, but I guess you have to say that Teddy was classic vintage Teddy last night. The obsession with this “distance” thing is his bread and butter, because he likes to pretend he taught this stuff to Tyson. It’s the worst thing about him by far. I know for a fact that lots of other pros are professionally jealous of where he is at, but he’s not really any sort of technique genius.

well as it turns out the “always exciting” jesus soto karass can be a bit boring. i saw his throw down with edgar de santos (i think that was his name). fight was kind of boring, and the commentators were even grilling his ass saying stuff like “he’s not fighting like a 100% mexican” and when he finally turned it on “finally this is the mexican we came to see!”
