1000

Ten years ago this month, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley were featured on the cover of KO Magazine. That month, Mayweather destroyed Carlos Gerena at 130 pounds, and Mosley made the jump from 135 to welterweight, beating Wilfredo Rivera on his way to a 2000 win over Oscar de la Hoya.

I hate to say it

But wow. Mayweather pretty much looks the same, but Mosley’s face has really transformed since then. And I’m not sure that all of it is because of gaining weight and getting hit in the face.

My favorite part of this ten year-old cover is the upper right hand corner… “ARE THERE ANY MORE MIRACLES FOR HOLYFIELD?”

What a fight that would have been...

Today it would still be quite a competitive and close fight but boy back in those days it would have been spectacular.

Shane Mosley has changed a lot over the years but he is an old man now. Back in those days he was like a freaking monster though. Just incredible watching him with his brutal handspeed and power going through opponents.

Mosley will probably never get the credit he deserves but his skill set is stuff of legends. I really do miss those days.

I’ve said it before, at 135 pounds, I’ll put Shane in the ring with ANYONE in an historical matchup.

Historical matchup

Sweet Pea vs. Drinks Pee at 135?

I do think Mosley would have had a tough time with Whitaker or Nelson though.

I’d probably pick Whitaker over Shane there, but I think it’s a hell of a great fight with a ton of different possible outcomes. (Well, maybe not a TON…)

MAYWEATHER IS SCARED

FM is Afraid to fight a true Welterweight like Mosley, that’s why he cherry picked a Smaller Marquez to fight!!! If Floyd wan’ts people’s Respect then fight Mosley and Beat him.
