haha D is the best one
I was excited the whole fight, waiting for Shannon to throw the big cross. Eventually I was willing to settle for a jab…maybe a block, some movement? When it was over, I couldn’t remember if Shannon threw anything at all.

I was waiting the entire Lyakhovich fight for him to throw the big cross as well
And it took him 35 minutes to do so.
Unless The Cannon has taken off about 30 pounds of muscle, he’s hopeless. Muscles use up a ton of oxygen. Briggs has athsma. Guys who are athsmatic can’t get enough oxygen. Bulking up like he did surely hurt Briggs much more than it helped him.

From Dan Rafael's blog...
When I lost the title in ‘07, I had walking pneumonia," Briggs said. "I wasn’t prepared. It wasn’t a smart move for me to defend the title in that condition. If you look at the heavyweight champions of the last few years, other champions have been allowed postponement after postponement. I was forced to fight with pneumonia. This time off was to recharge and heal from the pneumonia. I’m ready to rock and roll now."
Are we supposed to forget that Briggs had already postponed the fight twice, and that he was going to get stripped if he postponed it again? Ibragimov-Mora never should have happened – that was going to be his Briggs fight, until Briggs pulled out at the last minute.

That Rafael blog was a little weird. It was a fairly blatant shill for Briggs, or at least that’s how it felt to me.

It goes to show you how much the era of the Euro Giants is hated when sportswriters are actually shilling for Shannon Briggs. Talk about lying down with dogs and waking up with fleas.

A few days ago they passed a Federal law
Actually saying that bloggers also need to disclose when they’ve received any form of compensation for writing about something.

What do you think about this business of PR guys signing up to blogs to distribute their press releases? I imagine its no skin off your ass if its only once in awhile, but think what a mess it would be if every Tom, Dick and Harry P.R. intern just started doing it for every little thing…. “John Ruiz Sues Somebody”…. “Floyd Mayweather Takes a Whizz”… etc… Man that would stink the joint out. It would be better to create a P.R. section and then charge these guys a nominal fee to post stuff there. Then people could click on the section read it, if they were into that sort of thing.

Some get banned. Some do not. If guys want to drop by and promote a show, I’m OK with that. If they’re trying to sell you watches, it bugs me. I get a lot of press releases and choose what to use and what not to use, and believe me, I’m aware of just about every time John Ruiz takes a shit.
