My guess… $$$…
I also doubt he would want to fight outside of Canada.

well frotch and AA have home field advantage, so i don’t see why bute wouldn’t have had HFA either especially since he’s actually one of the top dogs of that weight class

HFA
I think almost everyone has home field advantage in this tourney and I think that’s kinda the point. All of these fighters are major draws in their home states/countries except for maybe Dirrell (Froch in GB, Kessler in Denmark, Ward in Oakland, Taylor in Arkansas, and Abraham in Germany). Anyways, it seems like there will be home and away games for essentially all of the round robin and then hopefully neutral sites for the semifinals and finals (Vegas probably). Anyways we do get some Bute-Andrade to make sure that everyone gets the fill of the super middleweight. If one of those two looks really good and the tournament is really close, I think one of them should get a shot at the winner.

Taylor in Arkansas
Well, Memphis. But yeah this is one of the things I actually dig about the tournament. Guys have to fight outside of their comfort zones at some point.

Bute's said he has no problem fighting outside of Canada
Just that’s where he makes money. He was willing to go to Nottingham to fight Froch, but those talks were sunk by a combination of the IBF not giving him an extension to fight Andrade and Froch getting the opportunity to participate in the tournament.

Because Sauerland pretty much arranged the tournament
And they didn’t want anyone in there who would upset Kessler. Or at least that’s my running theory. Also, there isn’t nearly as much money in Canadian TV as there is in German TV, English TV or US TV. Kessler’s pull is as a German TV presence; any Danish revenues are just icing on the cake.

If Ward or Kessler were to get upset where would that leave the tournament?
