Nate Campbell gave an exclusive statement to BoxingScene.com about the potential fight between himself and Floyd Mayweather Jr., which is not a done deal but now seems to be the lead rumor for Mayweather's March 13 date.

"[W]ho else between 140 and 147 can bring the kind of fight that I can? I have solid HBO ratings for all my HBO fights over the last few years, and I have the style that can beat Floyd. And besides, everybody dont know this, but Floyd DID turn down a fight with me several years ago. He called it 'slave wages' or something. So theres some unfinished business between us, and now's as good a time as any to straighten it."

I don't think Nate stands any chance against Floyd

But I wouldn’t begrudge him a shot, nonetheless. After all he’s come through in his career, he’s one of those guys who really deserves one big money fight before he finishes. However, an abundance of heart does not win a fight against Floyd Mayweather – just look at Ricky Hatton or the late Chico Corrales. It’d be a pretty bad mismatch, but at least Margarito wouldn’t be on the undercard..

Mayweather would wipe the mat with Campbell. Nate’s 38 years old and looked awful stepping up to 140 against Bradley, let alone 147 against Mayweather. But I kind of feel the same. If anyone’s going to get the big payday mismatch, there are less-deserving guys than Nate Campbell, who had his late-career blossom so utterly screwed up that he had to file for bankruptcy when he should have been at the hottest point of his career.

Slave Wages

That’s funny and it sounds like Floyd too.

At this stage

of his career Nate has no business in the ring with Floyd, a more competetive fight would be Naomi Campbell. Peace!!

I’m calling the fight Campbell vs. Chicken

My favorite quote...
…I ain’t fixing to blow an opportunity like this over some tests. Like I told my man Terry, they can even pluck hairs from my sack in between rounds for all I care. I ain’t got nothin to hide.

Nate Campbell, never at a loss for words. LMAO….

lol typical floyd fight. he and de la hoya have the same match making mentality. fight much smaller, former champions with a name and sell the fraud to the public.

No, but most of the indications are that this will be the fight

Old head Please. If this fight does surface it will be the same type of pounding that the," Great Warrior" Gotti suffered.

I mean, w/e

Nate prolly deserves the payday, but cmon. Tim Bradley or bust.

Assuming this happens, the contrast between Manny and Mayweather is pretty stark. It would be nice for Nate to get the payday though.
