It's not just me, is it? There's something really off-putting and shameful about naming this show "Latin Fury" AND "Pinoy Power," isn't there? Especially considering they're NUMBERED EVENTS?

Oh well -- here's the short hype video for Latin Fury 13/Pinoy Power 3 featuring Nonito Donaire and Fernando Montiel on February 13.

No way is it off-putting to 95% of the world.

Most people aren’t ashamed of their heritage and what makes them different from others. “Pinoy Power!” is an extremely common phrase used in the Philippines, but there are zero negative connotations implied. It’s simply pride in who you are.

The USA is the only country that constantly flogs itself whenever a difference is pointed out. That’s why we still have racism, compared to other countries, who simply accept (and actively comment) on the ethnic differences between certain groups.

Remember when Barrera was tearing through the world? ALL of the Mexican fans in the world were on his bandwagon. Are Americans the same with a guy like Lance Armstrong? Michael Phelps? Heck, Randy Johnson?

We’re the strange ones. We (meaning Americans) place all kinds of negative connotations on division. The rest of the world embraces it, unless those divisions are along religious lines, then all hell can break loose.

There is no such thing as innocence, only degrees of guilt.

That’s not at all what I’m talking about. What I’m talking about is the way they’re trying to rip off TWO loyal fanbases they generally do their best to exploit with sub-standard fights like Donaire-Guerrero and Montiel-Morales. Those should both be walks in the park for the titlists, and they’re trying to hook in the Mexican fans and the Filipino fans for a show that isn’t worth the money by pandering to them with those gimmicky PPV series titles. It’s really cheap.
