Everlast and Andre Berto Release New Shirt To Benefit Haiti

From an Everlast press release in my inbox:

EVERLAST + ANDRE BERTO CREATE LIMITED EDITION T-SHIRT TO RAISE MONEY FOR AMERICAN RED CROSS + HAITIAN RELIEF EFFORT

New York, NY - January 21, 2010 - Everlast Worldwide, Inc. and WBC Welterweight World Champion Andre Berto have teamed up to create a limited edition "Team Berto" t-shirt to support Haitian relief following the January 12th earthquake.

All profits from the sale of the t-shirt benefit the American Red Cross’s Haiti Relief and Development fund to support emergency relief and recovery efforts and help those affected by the earthquake.

"Like the rest of the world, we are deeply saddened by the tragic events in Haiti and are committed to using our resources to help those in need," said Neil Morton, CEO of Everlast Worldwide.  "So when news of the disaster broke, we immediately contacted Andre to see how Everlast could help."

In addition to giving away 100% of the profits from sales of the shirt go to the American Red Cross, Everlast has committed to donating $10,000 of clothes to the recently established Berto Dynasty Foundation!, to be distributed amongst those in Haiti who have survived but are without basic necessities.

The limited-edition shirt, available at www.Everlast.com, reflects the Haitian national colors and features the Everlast logo, Andre Berto logo and the island nation of Haiti’s silhouette.

Absolutely class move by Everlast and the shirt is pretty nice too.  If you're looking for a way to help I urge you to consider picking up this shirt.

The shirt is nice... the cause is great...

My only complaint is the shipping is pretty steep ($9).

I still got one.

Thanks Brent. I was just about to post this email myself. I have plenty of T-shirts myself, so I just donated directly to UNICEF.

Keyring?

I don’t why this shirt comes with a boxing keyring but it does. Woohoo? Bought it anyway, and will gladly explain “What does AB mean?” to anyone who asks.

right – I did and ringside does the same thing with the key ring’s when you order merchandise, I don’t really get it but whatever, I guess they see it as advertising. It would be cool if the shirt said “Berto” on it somewhere. I appreciate it not looking like an Affliction – skull and death morbid show though.
