blah, blah, blah . . .

This is basically another article basically stating that they do not like Mayweather boxing style. I heard the same thing about Whitaker and Roy Jones Jr.

I’ve seen Muhammad Ali fight the same way where he simply out-jabbed, out-punched, out-smarted his opponents while taking little to no damage. He wasn’t heavily criticized for his style because he took some punches and was tagged often in some hard fought wars.

Guys like this need to remember that defense often wins championships in the NFL and NBA. While the Ravens were not as exciting as the Partriots, they got the job done and many fans cheered. Jordan and company did not win championships until the entire squad was sold on defense. The high scoring, much beloved Phoenix Suns led by Steve Nash has yet to win a championship title. The Spurs were often called boring.

Overall I agree Whitaker against Pacquiaio will not be as huge as Corrales-Castillo or Abraham vs. Miranda but I just don’t see how a journalist sounds so dismissive of Mayweather style of boxing when so many boxers gives him respect and credit for his successful style. Not to mention, Mayweather has had some exciting matches against Gatti, and the aforementioned Corrales and Castillo. Well, that’s just in my opinion.

Happy Holidays and A Happy New Year

God forbid a guy who has the ability to not get hit chooses not to.

This article is just plain dumb. Mayweather has the gift of dodging punishment, so that’s exactly what he tries to do. It’s worked out pretty well for him too, as he hasn’t lost a fight yet and he’s, at the very least, one of the two best p4p fighters out there. He also sells a ton of ppvs with his fights, and makes as much as anybody per fight. True hardcore boxing fans respect his defensive skills, even if they hate every other aspect of him.
