Yuriorkis Gamboa to make quick return in Germany

After wiping out Roger Mtagwa with awe-inspiring ease on Saturday night, WBA featherweight titlist Yuriorkis Gamboa will be making a fast return to the ring on March 27, when he'll fight in Hamburg, Germany.

Gamboa (17-0, 15 KO) will fight in Germany for his co-promoter, Ahmet Oner, and will share the bill with fellow Cuban Odlanier Solis. Neither Gamboa nor the heavyweight Solis (15-0, 11 KO) have opponents yet, but given that it's Germany, don't expect anything substantial for either of them.

I do wonder if Solis is fully confirmed, as Top Rank had him set to fight on their March 20 "Top Rank Live" show from Key West, but I'm guessing Top Rank can easily slide in some other fight for that date and lose nothing, given that Solis has no opponent listed for that show either.

For the record, it appears Germany's only featherweight is Marcel Meyerdiercks (15-0, 5 KO).

The fights will be broadcast on German network Sat.1.

Not shocking.

He fought a round and a half.

It would have been a disappointment if he had waited 6 months to fight again…sorta of crap.

Don't really care

who it is—not every fight has to be television worthy—as long as he fights regularly.

I’m all for that.
