Video Hype: Face-Off with Pacquiao and Margarito, plus 24/7 trailer
Max Kellerman sits down with Manny Pacquiao, Freddie Roach, Antonio Margarito and Robert Garcia. I think this is actually a fairly strong interview, though the dramatic music is a little silly. That we're just about a month away from this fight really took me by surprise today.
And here's the trailer for "24/7," which starts on October 23.
The poster for the fight is also now available in The Fight Poster Project.

problem is too well presented and articulate to annoy the crap out of the ‘masses’
we need to create some sort of anti kellerman fan club or try an get him a job as a WWE commentator
If they can't get rid of someone who's flat out incompetent, like Manny Steward
Then I doubt they’ll ever get rid of Kellerman just because he’s annoying.
He loves boxing, he’s able to say things in a way that first-time viewers can understand it, and he seems to have a decent level of analysis and knowledge outside of what he just sees on HBO. Yeah, he’s too much of a fanboy a lot of the time, and his interviews could use some work, but at this point, considering how badly Lampley and Merchant have declined in recent years, he might be the best guy on the HBO broadcasts.

Kellerman leaves alot to be desired but he is the best we got… but that doesn’t mean that we should deserve better….
"Boxing is dirty," said Casamayor. " The day I’m not ready to be a dirty fighter is the day I don’t fight anymore because it will mean that I have no heart for it anymore."
yep. he provides good insight in parts of his commentary, way better than drunk larry merchant or ridiculous lampley.

Eh
Once every three fights or so he says something useful, and when he does, he repeats it over and over again for the rest of the fight.

I like Manny
He’s a class act. More than can be said about the others.

Lampley
gets excited which is fun but damn what a tightwad. Look at the mayorga post fight interview with merchant. Merchant hand Mayorga a cigarette as a joke because we all know Ricardo smokes and Lampley responds, “thats illegal in california”. COME ON!

Well,
grammar is as grammar does, or something—I don’t know what his background was, but often black people his age had very poor teaching in the grammar school years, not something easily made up for, especially in the hands-on world of sports. He’s pretty eloquent in his way, so I don’t mind the less-than-perfect diction. Good diction is largely a function of privilege, so if a decent enough spoken person who’s early teaching was likely inadequate is getting their point across, that’s good enough for me.

I'm with BA on this one.
Manny is a boxing trainer first..and a commentator after. Yes, he has a responsibility to his profession… both of them… to learn to do his job as best he can.
But I don’t look to Manny for English or diction lessons.
I listen to his boxing insights. He possesses virtually unparalleled experience as a trainer. Frankly, he is a living piece of history and I consider myself fortunate to be able to listen to him.
He’s not some other athlete reprising us with his glory days. He is actively training Vladimir Klitschko…and is undeniably responsible for transforming him into one of history’s most dominant heavyweights. Miquel Cotto had reason for choosing him most recently. He’s one of the best to ever do his job.
Hearns, JC Chavez, Naseem Hamed, Lennox Lewis, Toney, Holyfield and Klitschko among many others have sought his counsel. That’s a helluva CV…. and better than enough for me.
WWE commentators
are the funniest commentators ever. Kellerman would ruin that too. We need to have him spar a few rounds to give him the edge only actual boxing will bring.
Jesus, it feels like a long time since I've commented.
What an awful stretch we’ve had recently in boxing,
Anyhow, Margarito’s “What, do you see me crippled or something?” followed by Roach’s “No, I’ve seen your last two fights” was pretty great stuff.

You know what… I am willing to drive to Dallas to call Margarito a tramposo puto.. He is a coward that needs to hide behind the I am too stupid to know what is under my gloves plea…

Why does HBO but that country block on there ad for 24/7? I dont see the bouns of blocking someone in another country watching someone thing that is made to advertise and make them want to watch more.
The interview was good I thought. Manny is his usual please every body self and Marg continued his speech from the last year about the wraps. Roach’s comment about the last 2 fights was a great line and think took them all by suprise

Yeah, see, HBO annoys the crap out of me. I have HBO Canada, I pay for it, yet they block their stuff online from me. I hate them with a passion. Besides, what kind of arbitrary parameters are they using that they will let me see the Faceoffs but not the 24/7 ad? UGH!!!!!
Officially boycotting Pacquiao vs. Margarito.
Forget hand wraps,
Margarito looks to be a person who’d shoot someone in a heartbeat.
But that didn’t seem to bother Roach: Great counter-punch.
Freddie was "Ali" spectacular in getting into Margarito's head.
That comment made straight to Margarito’s face evoked a ‘crippled’ retort. I don’t think he could have seen that one coming; certainly not to his face.
Roach earned his percentage right then and there.
Top Rank needs a new graphic designer.
I think Margarito looks as surly as he does because no one likes inhaling that much dry ice.

I saw what I needed to see
When asked the question of the hand wraps Margarito’s eyes were looking left.

Plaster
is wet before it dries and gets hard. He had to know when he put on wet hand wraps.

He Had to Know
but my understanding is that they put it on dry, and the sweat from the fighter’s hands is what wets it—how it then dries I don’ t know, my guess is it doesn’t fully or evenly, just enough to do damage.
